well those lags are like really short like less than 1 second but they tend to happend quite often which leads to me being killed more often. THanks for those links, i'll try it out and tell you how it goes.

delete ur driver ,delete it from devices,reboot do a fresh install ov ur graphics driver and make sure its not turned up and its on application recomended(auto) its just a driver prob unless ur windows is a old install

two problems:
you use norton (kill it)
you bought a Dell (send it back)

that should fix your problems. I think the issue is that it is a 6800 Go chipset, I don't belive it is supported (nor do I think the memory is dedicated, I belive it may be shared).

agreed, but that XPS laptop is one of the only good comps dell has, if not THE only. good call on killing norton though, its garbage

i had norton system works which i felt was way to strong !messed up some stuff ,now ive got norton internet security and it seems alot friendlier to my pc

so have you driver cleaned your old drivers and put new ones in yet - if yes you should say so

if not - thats why people have given up

oh boy.... hmmmmm get driver cleaner (program = i think its free... well at least mine was) go to add/remove programs (control panel)... go down list remove nvidia drivers... run driver cleaner... reboot... install new drivers (downloaded from where ever)... thts how (easy way)

now dont come back until you have done tht

thats not how you use Driver Cleaner , after you've uninstalled your drivers and h/w .. you have to reboot into safe mode and run driver cleaner.

You need to do some research yourself on cleaning and installing video drivers. www.google.com It gets discussed too much here.

And I'd recommend strongly against the beta Forceware drivers. If you're having problems now, it'd be better to stick with a stable driver.

Lap Tops are not meant to run games. They can.. but not as well.
If you had bf2 installed and then changed the video card, you need to delete the profile folder, uninstall your video drivers, reboot and install them. Then play bf2 and let it optimize for your video card.
That should do it. If not... uninstall BF2 and make sure the folder is also deleted. The folder in "My documents" as well. and reboot then install the game again.
If by chance that doesn't work, uninstall the game, uninstall the video card drives, reboot, install the video drivers, install the game, defrag, and play. Should only take about an hour...

Not sure why BF2 is too stupid to recognize a new hardware change and optimize instead of being such a b|tch. But that's EA/Dice for you.

Go to Nvidia's website. www.nvidia.com

Select "download driver"
Select "Graphics Driver"
Select "Geforce" (You said you have a Geforce go 6800? they have seperate drivers for the go 7800)
Select "What ver of windows you are using"

This should take you to the 81.85 drivers.
