All Commanders should use VOIP...

Well we had a commander on our server the other day who used VOIP all the time.
Nobody else used VOIP just him.

He was calling each squad by number, like... Alpha "Section 1 move to the Hotel and secure, ive dropped supplies ready" (on Karkland).
He had a posh British accent so he really sounded like a commander.

Every squad was following orders.Everyone "roger that" his orders.

He would use VOIP to warn anyone of arty, that's when he raised his voice.:cry:

Was brilliant to have some professionalism.

Please... all Commanders, use VOIP to give verbal orders, when they have been "okay'd" you can give the order on the hud as well.

yeah never use Voip cuz super lag comes in... but when you are comander.. lag is no more a problem since all you do it give order to your teamate and help them with ART or supplies... would be a very great idea...will try this as soon as i can

We played with him in command all night and never lost once.

He ALWAYS said thank you and please.
That must be rule #1 as it gets respect.

i completely agree VOIP is absolutely crucial for commander -- he just has to have a team that actually LISTENS

no one will listen if its a 10year old guy... but only squad leader can hear and listen the comander... how can the squad members know the comander have a voice and see that the squad leader is being talked by him? especially when squad leader dont even talk to them or the comander? and also 95% of people have voip enabeled but does not seems to know the 2 specials "push-to-talk touch button"

Yes but the squad leader will "ok" the commanders verbal command, then the commander gave the official command which is also "ok" by squad leader, which in turns sends order to all squad.

but doesnt that means that only squad leaders knew. the squad members maybe wont follow the order.. and what about lone wolves?

im not very familiar with voip... so.. is there an option for global voip?

I experienced a commander using voip for the first time yesterday, a guy called FU2_Chris. It was such an advantage to have, I managed to hold the bridge point on karkand by myself for a good 20 minutes under constant attack simply by knowing where the enemy from coming from before hand and having a nasty surprise ready for them.

i know but its not enough for me... i trust you after all cuz you said you won all rounds for all night long
cant wait to try it myself as a commander... at least found a way to use voip without the lag disadvantage.

Being polite is kinda ironic. It isn't that i disagree with it, but we are playing a war game where we are getting ordered to do something. "Can you please follow my orders? Pretty Please...." hehe
But i agree. treat other players with respect and you will get the same in return

It was a pleasant atmosphere, i was admin so if any little under 16 yo decided to try commanding without respect...guess what :)

It's not ironic when you consider that this is a game and not the army. I didn't enlist. So I'd appreciate not being treated like a grunt by some perfect stranger. I had a guy on a server recently who was constantly spamming "you are the worst squad I have ever seen". Meanwhile I was capping bases for that useless sack of garbage. Ugghhh. If I could only reach through the computer screen I'd smack him silly.

That said, I have 112 hours logged in the game. I have not heard a single person make a single peep on any of the servers I've played on. And most of them have VOIP enabled. I thought it was broken. I also heard that you have to have a USB mic. Is this true?

By spamming I mean he was saying over and over again. It was getting very annoying, especially since our team won the game every round. And for some reason that server wouldn't let me mutiny or I would have. And yes, I was capping the flags for me.
