What sli setup can my pc run???

this is my pc rig now
amd 3500+venice (not o/c because still under warranty)
ga k8n ultra sli mobo
1gb (2x512mb) kingston value ram (soon to be 2gb if needed)
1x 120gb maxtor sata hdd
1x gigabyte 6600gt
1x LG and 1x gigabyte dvd burner
antec true control 2.0 550w (which is sli ready im told, but can't find it on box)
I wanna upgrade my graphics card so i can run my games on high sets. with insane fps.
now my question is whats the best card set up my pc can handle?
Im thinkin maybe 7800gt in sli or is this too much?
anyone?

I have a setup a lot like yours

3500+ Venice
2 GB OCZ
Asus A8n sli premium
7800 GTX

If you want to run the game on high settings you need 2 GB of ram or you will get stuttering because you will run out of mem and the virtual mem will be used.

whats beter 4x512mb of ram or 2x1gb of ram?
cause i got 2x512mb mayb get 4x512mb setup

if your mb has 4 slots - then just go for another pair - cheaper option.

if you are getting identical speed ram - it does not matter if you go 4 sticks to get 2g or 2 sticks to get 2g.
