The weird freeze problem (post solutions only here)

It seems a large number of people are having it and I thought I would make a place for possilbe solutions. When a real one that works comes out I will edit this main post with it.

Some things that I have noticed about the problems

    -We all have AMD processors
-All happened realativly the same time (few days ago)
-Hangs up in less than a minute, usually less than 30 seconds

How you know that this is the problem you are having

-When joining a multiplayer server BF2 freezes
-Music starts looping, Doesn't continue playing
-hitting Alt-tab doesn't bing anything up
    -ctrl-alt-delete does nothing
-You had BF2 working before this problem

Hopefully this will open up solutions. Right now we are wondering if it was a new punk buster update. Please try to only post solutions in this thread.

Thanks and by the way I have the same problem,

    ~Greg

Seams the only solution on offer at the moment is to play on a non PB server!

I have been having the problem and after a little research firmly believe it is caused by punkbuster. When going to their site, you can see that they have "updated" punkbuster several times in the past two days. I have an AMD Athlon 64 X2 Processor.

I have been unable to contact EA regarding this problem. However, here is some info:

        EA tech support: http://techsupport.ea.com

*I have been unsuccessful in logining in or creating an account for "ask a question" on that site.

Some phone numbers I have found from EA's corporate site. Too late to call. I may try tomorrow.

I also firmly believe it is PunkBuster.

All we can do is wait for an official response from EvenBalance or EA.
