anyone else think squad leaders should get points for leading well or succesfully completing a commander's orders or something? i think if they added some incentive the squad leading portion of the game could be made pretty interesting...not sure what but i know they could definitely make that part of the game more interesting

Re: squad leader points
I certainly feel like Squad Leaders are much more likely to get less points than the rest of the squad since they should be staying back out of harm's way in order for squad members to spawn on them.
I can't think of something that could actually be implemented that would reliably be able to reward good squad leaders though.
The game cannot tell when you've successfully completed an order.
If it COULD though..picture this:
o When your squad is given orders by the COMMANDER to defend a flag, any 'flag defence' point any of your squad members gets at that flag gives you, as Squad Leader, a 'leadership point'.
o When your squad is given orders by the COMMANDER to attack a flag, any 'flag neutralize' or 'flag capture' points at that flag gives you, as Squad Leader, a 'leadership point'.
Other possible points:
o Any artillery strike called in as Squad Leader that gets a kill gives you 1 'leadership point' (only 1 point per barrage)
There are just thoughts...unlikely as they are to get implemented. -
Re: squad leader points
I may be wrong, but I'd like to think that the people who take on the role of Sl and do the job properly don't care about points. Sure they wouldn't mind some more and sure they'll not play as SL so that they do get a few more added onto their total.
But maybe some have taken the decision that it's more fun to play as a SL that more often than not isn't in the main battle but knows that it's due to his actions that the flag gets capped.Comment

Re: squad leader points
And unfortunately you could point farm like crazy if this happened. It would be so ez to get points for really doing nothing. And to be honest "points' aren't really and incentive to play the game. If you wants some points that bad i can email you some. infact here ya go.Originally posted by TalusI certainly feel like Squad Leaders are much more likely to get less points than the rest of the squad since they should be staying back out of harm's way in order for squad members to spawn on them.

Re: squad leader points
I also enjoy playin as squad leader (hate commander though) but hate the point system. The only thing important to me is the team winning the round. One of the most excellent things in the game is when people notice "Hey the guys a good squad leader" and stick in your squad over the course of a few maps. I play as support and hang back nearlly all the time let the squad take the flags, give cover fire, try stay alive for respawns and when the flags taken resupply the squad.
Also I try and communicate as much as possible with the commander asking for artillary usv etc which for me is highly enjoyable. If you want points then squad leader is not the job to go for and as for the unlocks we are not allowed them in the ladder we play in so why get used to playing with them??
