was playing on 24/7 Gulf of Oman |DPG| thadpg.com (Ranked) Dallas TX ... i was pwning on the f35 , thx to my pwning we took all flags and I started banging the main base... i see a msg that says kicking for "camping" non cap.... :|: and got kicked...

since the days of 1942 bombing of main base when all flags are capped has been ok , even on some servers when all flags where taken attacking by land is ok

what do you think?

that server is one of the most abusivly admined servers i had ever seen and i have never ever added or contributing to a thread to purposly slam another server in my entire life but that one clearly deserves it, sorry to dig up an old thread but this information needs to be given to the masses. i saw numorus people getting kicked for simply killing the admins, being in a toy the admin wanted or simply looking at the admins the wrong way. the admins were yelling "powed newb" after every kill, belittling all the players and then kicking anyone who responded to their childish attempts to provoke them, its clearly run by children on a power trip with no concept of the morality involved in running and operating a respectable and fair server.

id suggest filling a abusive admin report with bfroe.com and bf2rankedservers.com trust me when i say i saw it with mine own eyes and it was a shocking display of how not to admin a server and how to promptly get your server rights revoked from the provider. for anyone wanting some entertainment id suggest stoping in there, respond to one of the admins when he calls you a looser newb after he kills you and watch the kick and ban commence, better yet try to fly a vehical, you will promtly get kicked if the admin feels like he wants it. this server has adminning you only hear stories about from a friend of a friend, one youd never think youd actualy see until it unfolds in front of your own eyes.

Wow... that was long.

Anyways, it's simple. In your situation I wouldn't consider it camping, but base-rape considering your team had captured all available CPs and are now trying to retain that control by stopping the other team before they get a chance to retaliate.

However if a pilot is bombing a UCB for the express purpose of racking up points (although I see no reason, I'm sure pilots already get plenty of points even without camping) then I would consider that camping.

If you want an analogy, think of cherry-picking in hockey. You're not participating in the game, just waiting for that oppurtune moment to make yourself look like a hero.

1. You've got all the bases you are allowed, what are you supposed to do, go back to the carrier and let them "pwn" you as the admins say?

2. The jet is there and gone in a flash, plus it has to rearm. It's not that bad. You can shoot jets down.

So I'd say that 1. It has dumb admins and 2. You weren't camping.

i dont know if you were banned from our server and you want to get back at us or something but you are one of the only people i have ever heard complain about our admining.....


you can ask any of our regulars that are on our server almost everyday that we do the best to keep the server clean and if someone is disrupting the server it will be taken care of

we dont even ask much of people on our server

4. Respect all players not just admins.

nope i wasnt banned, i follow the rules and luckily was flying the f35 at the time an the admin didnt want it, otherwise he would of kicked me so he could fly it. i was just awitness to some of the most childish adminning i had ever seen in my life as a competitive gamer and im not the only one who has brought these recent situations to light, your fourm is absolutly filled with people raving about unjust bans so you must be aware of it. i just thought it was such a serious situation that it needed to be brought to the light of the community and your leadership but your second in command banned me from the forums for making a curtious, kind and exstreamly respectfull post reguarding the situation, he clearly did not care and condoned the outlandish antics i exspressed.

i just dont think the powers that be are exactly aware of what goes on after midnight in your own server, just not aware of whos doing the kicking and banning. the persons trusted with that responsibility clearly can not handle it with a mature and level head. id suggest reveiwing lastnights kick and ban log along with the chat, you will see childish admins provoking players into a war of words then kicking them from the room the second they finaly stick up forthemselves and reply to the bashing, youll see them selectivly kicking players who bomb manins but not kicking the ones on their team that are doing it. worst of all i witnessed admins kicking players who were simply inside a vehical that admin decided he wanted, id think you would encourage alittle more mature behavior from your admins but it seems that all you need to do is purchase a $3 server slot from you and anyone can act like an abusive admin. someone seriously needs to reveiw the current late night admins kick ad ban records, id imagine its a staggeringly large amount of infractions.

I've noticed that most complaints about server admins and rules are servers that play ThisMap 24/7. I can't stand playing the same map over and over again, so I usually avoid these servers. But I wonder if anyone else notices the trend.

Anyway, I voted no, because what do admins expect you to do when you cap all other flags?

not true at all, we run one of the most popular 24/7 karkand servers and we had only ever had to ban a handfull of people up until the last patch with the commander drops being implemented and people glitching into the hotel and i can account for every banned person on the list and absolutly the only reason anyone has ever been banned from our server in the last month was hotel glitching, the absolute only reason. the truth is not every player in bf2 is childish and cant follow the rules, our server is regularly filled with newbs and veteran players alike and they all act with respect and maturity to the most part. abusive admining certainly isnt the norm and it shouldnt be tolerated under any circumstance.

That's good. It just seems coincidental that most server complaints seem to be from 24/7 type servers. Not necessarily your server specifically or even all 24/7 servers.

Yeah.. the bad part is, I was going to get a jet, and I saw an admin just sitting on the "lower deck" part thing of the carrier (like where there are little 3ft ladders.. and its lower than the main deck) just sitting there.

I thought he was just adminning... doing what admins do. monitoring the server...

So I go over and wait next to the jet, because of the "turn" system they have.. I didn't see anyone else.. so I waited. As the jet spawned, I took the jet and pulled straight up. I got to about 500ft, and next thing I know "KICKING!!! XmetallicaXguitarstX WAIT YOUR TURN FOR THE JET YOU IDIOT!"

So... I come back in... I see this admin in a squad. I joined it, and i'm like wtf man? who else was waiting? He said "I was sitting here waiting the whole time".... so i'm like... "well... you should make it more obvious.. because people are going to do that all round." then... I just sit back and wait for him to take his "turn".

Over the next couple minutes, I see people walk over to the jet, waiting, they get the jet, RIGHT after they get into the jet, he kicks them for taking "his" jet... because it was "his turn". OVER and OVER... all round. He didn't give warnings, and he didn't even wait remotely close to the jet...

That server is ****ed up. Don't play there if you can help it.

Edit: Oh... and the sad part.. this guy was an adult. He sounded to be in his 30's or so.

Number 1 I'd agree with, but no one does that anyway.
Number 2, is just retarded, well least most of my fav servers have no swear filters, because its lame.

heheh, sounds like dejavu.....i witnessed the same childish antics lastnight.....clearly its not isolated incedents that people encounter with their admins, there is definity a problem that the leadership is either unaware of or just doesnt give a rats asss about. after reading some of their responses to threads about them at bf2rankedservers.com id have to think they are perfectly aware of the situation and completly condone the abusivness that takes place

No such thing as basecamping in BF, never was, isn't now, never will be.

I still don't get it, didn't get it 3 and half years ago, still don't get it now.
No attacking the enemy main until all the flags are taken. When the enemy no longer has a venue of escape (no other flags to spawn at) than you can spawncamp them at will and kill them repeatedly where they spawn with no chance of fighting back, and that's ok.

That is the most messed up rule I've ever heard of. It was a stupid rule back in October 2002 when it started and it still is today.
If you want to attack my uncappable main while I still have flags, go ahead fill your boots, and while you do that I'll cap all the other flags, thank you.

Also what is with this waiting your turn. If you start as a pilot, or armour, stick with it.
Waiting for your turn only encourages people to stand around the airfield.

If you don't get the jet first, so something useful and help your team.
