    Multiplayer Newb

I have a brand new installation of BF2 patched to v1.03.

    I have a brand new computer (Athlon 3200, 1gb RAM, 6800GT).

I can play solo games fantastically...however, everytime I try to join any (at least I have never successfully found a site that doesn't follow this pattern) multiplayer Internet game...I click...I connect and get the player list...it does all the calculations...I click the "Join" button. I even get the first "pick kit/spawn point" screen for a couple of seconds but can't do anything on it...then...boink! Back to the "Choose your Server" screen with a popup that says "Connection to Server Lost".

I know there are client firewall holes supposed to be in place...I have 2 firewalls...one software/ one hardware in front of my PC to the internet...but even when I turned both of them off...I still get the same problems...what is going wrong with my game?

TIA..this is killing me that I haven't been able to enjoy my $50 for 2 weeks.

Did you update punkbuster? If not goto www.evenbalance.com for instructions on how to do that.

I updated it last week sometime...but it looks like they have updated since then.

So I went back into my /pb folder and double clicked pbweb.exe...and it downloaded a bunch of files.

        I tried connecting again...same results. :-(

(PS: How do I see the PB version? to confirm that I am at 1.169 after the apparent download?)
