Why can jets see TOW missiles in their reticle?

Why can jets see TOW missiles in their reticle? I believe a TOW missile is a wire guided missile (you turn the turret and the missile follows you).

I can understand IGLA and Stingers, but it doesn't make sense that TOW show up.

Is this a bug?

Technically, a TOW can be a threat to an airplane, but I think the reason is because it's a manned ground unit. So it'll show up so you can bomb it. What does it matter though, you can should be able to tell the difference between a Tank and a TOW. If you were looking for tanks to begin with, that means there must not have been any jets or helis to worry about in the sky, so you had time to waste. No tanks either? Well who cares if it's a TOW or an AA. The best part is NEITHER will hit you LOL.

Well you see vehicles, and they're not a threat to you, but they can be used to kill your own team, just like TOWs. It's about eliminating the threat V_V

that's what the jets are for. Support, if your air can take it out before it does damage (or any more) to your team, they are doing their job.

its classed as a vehicle so it appears like tanks and jeeps

I had my razor out shaving in a remote part of a map the other day. I'll be danged if a jet didn't fly by and shoot it out of my hand. Then swing around and smoke me. They see everything.
