Dao-12. I say this because all the spec ops guns are usable. Just fine infact. G36C is just a nice little upgrade. The AT guns are pretty crappy though. Dao-12 will make a huge difference when you play AT. I also think it's the cheapest gun. I don't use unlocks much though.
Both are great weapons but id take the DAO 12 only weapon ive ever used were ive walked around a corner into a full squad and killed them all. Well with a little help from my pistol and knife but dam ive not even come close with any of the other weapons.
I hated the DAO at first but I've found if you actually AIM the damn thing, it is very effective even out to medium ranges, particularly if the enemy doesn't see you at first.
Well, I unlocked the DOA last night, and WOW!
That thing is a man eater!
I quickly found it's true purpose... anti-anti-armor! I was being a good little anti-tanker by riding along with my squad to pop out and blow away anything big, but found myself doing area sweep and clears against all the other ATs.
I found 2 things that help out a lot with the load time, BTW:
Since it doesn't use a clip, re-load any time you have a moment. Crank out a couple shots, drop some dude, reload. It doesn't cost you ammo wastage. You just replace the rounds you've fired.
You can break the reload cycle! If you are in the middle of a lengthy reload, you can still fire! He just stops reloading and starts shooting. This helps out bigtime since it does take a hella long time to do a full reload.

But I would go with the DAO as it improves anti-tank 1000x. Except for the AK-74U, the other Special Ops guns are almost as good as the G36C. The DAO is also a blast to use, and people within 20m are dead in 1/2 a second!

Actually, It had nothing to do with distance for me. I got each of the guns for different reasons:
PKM is just so loud and fun to shoot.
G3 has a good sound too, and I get nades back. I hate noob tubing, and nades can be very devistating with the splash damage.
M95 I had to get eventually, since it has the single most devastating shot in the game. BIG booming sound too.
L85A1 because out of the other classes, I enjoyed played medic A LOT. Out of all the kits, I feel like playing Medic makes the game as intense as possible.
Between engi, AT, and spec ops, I engi and AT according to the situation, but no one talks about the Jackhammer, so it comes down to the DAO and G36C1. And I'll admit both are great guns. Whichever one I do pick, I won't be getting the other for a LONG time (till I hit 20,000). So I essentially see this as my last unlock. 5 out of 7 of course isn't bad.
DAO is the best close combat weapon, very effective on citymaps.
G36 is the best allround weapon, its good in long, medium, close. It doesent beat the DAO in close though.
DAO is a more noticable upgrade. The default rifle for the anti-tank sux. it is actually a full-auto pistol!! same damage as the pistol!
G36C is a very nice gun, but you can play special ops with the default guns. The main difference between the G36C and the other default spec ops guns is the higher accuracy.
My opinion is to go with the DAO. You will notice the difference.
No, it doesn't suck BUT it is little or no improvement over the AKs. I consider the AK-47 to actually be better than the G3. The only reasons to get it are:
1. You like hand grenades more than the GL
2. You want firepower more than accuracy when you play USA assault.
I got it for reason 2 but only as my 4th unlock since I usually just don't play assault when I'm on USA.

I'll probably get the G36 next since I normally don't play sniper/medic. It's a good weapon but not that much better than the stock specops weapons. Its major advantage is low recoil so you get better accuracy in full-auto. (PKM is not much of an improvement either but I got it 2nd because I play support far more than any kit other than AT.)
