How do you guide TV missiles?

I noticed the missile wont fire unless the "+" sign is in the middle of the "box" after that I press the fire button but the missile doesnt seem to respond very much to guidance moves of the mouse. THen someone told me its self guided? Hmmm,

Couldn't be any simpler. Aim, click, boom. There must be a problem at your end if it doesn't work like that.

Once launched you can guide it by clicking multiple times (and fast) on where you want it to go, takes some times to get used with it but you can destroy BH, tanks, ..., far far away. There is, of course, a limited distance but long enough to launch 2 missiles before the pilot get's you near a ennemy vehicle .

When firing tv missile you must 1st jusdge where the target will be when the missile gets there fire with left mouse button click the left mouse button as fast as you can when missile is moving and move the crosshair to the target to guide it the faster you click the smother it guides ... always aim for the tail of helicopters to prevent the flying through the cobra cockpit bug or flying through the passenger bay of blackahwk bug

You can make kills from 500-600m (if you're not at high altitude), without problems.

When I see that someone spotted enemy chopper (for example), and I don't see it, I'll shoot out TV missile in that general direction. Very often I hit it.

Same goes for tanks, APCs, etc.

For me, further the target - easier to hit. You also have the advantage if they don't see you, so they don't expect TV missile.

The most annoying thing is "passthrough" bug (where missiles simply go through choppers if you hit them in the middle or up front; I experience this mostly on Dalian Plant) and "duds" (this mostly happens on Cleansweep as MEC, for me).

As someone already mentioned, aim for the tail.

Has anyone ever had a missle not fire when the pilot is firing missles.

Because whenever I try to fire a missle while the pilot shoots, it won't fire.

Besides that it's all about judging which is the easiest target to hit, aiming, and firing.

I have had that problem of trying to fire when the pilot is firing. I couldn't understand what was happening so I click again and then it is too late and you miss the target by a mile.

Missle flying through cobra cockpit is a bug, flying through the blackhawk OPEN bay is NOT a bug.....

The problem is it also flies THROUGH Chinese/MEC transport choppers. It also flies THROUGH Blackhawk when you hit it from the above (no open bays on the top of chopper ). I've had too many hits in the BH that just passed through. Not even 20% of them were near the "open bay". I used to guide it directly to the BH cockpit - coming from front - and it's pass through whole BH. That's when I started aiming at tail or bottom of BH, and it works much better.

If you try to hit BH while it's not moving (sitting on the carrier), you'll hardly ever experience TV missile going through it. I never did. But when it's airborne, either lag or some other network related bug kicks in.

I've had TV missile fly through all kinds of airplanes. I've had maybe 10 airplane kills (with TV missile, while airplane is airborne and coming towards me or slowly flying away from me), and I had at least 30 cases where missile simply went THROUGH the airplane. Either the wing, or fuselage.

Ffs, I still see AT missiles going through Humvees (when they're incoming) every day. I could understand that small buggies and jeeps have lots of "holes", but Humvee or Vodnik do not. But AT missiles still pass through...

BF2 has so many bugs, there is no use arguing about them anymore. Just try to find "workarounds" (run from incoming Humvees, for example )
