Well i just read that downloading new drivers for my nvidia 5700 and not uninstalling the older drivers will cause the screen to freeze (wich mine did) so would this really be my problem? i had screens like this when running my 5700 aswell-

i recently took it out but i'm so desperate to start playing bf2 and cod2 now on my own pc i just am looking for possible answers.

So, can somone tell me how to uninstall all the drivers and start over? my nvidia 5700 card is outside of the case.. should this cause problems?

Drivers can be uninstalled through a few clicks, not physically.

Do a google search for Driver Cleaner Pro, download it, and view the readme for instructions.

by the way, it has the my intel chipset at the bottom... when i am trying to uninstall nvidia drivers?

Well to uninstall your video drivers is very simple. You might want to download Driver Cleaner Pro 1.2 found here: http://www.drivercleaner.net/

Run the live Update and install the updates


Go to your Add and Remove programs. Remove your control panel. Then its going to ask you if you want to restart your computer......click "NO". Remove the display drivers. Then its going to ask you if you want to restart your computer......click "NO". Then remove the software utility (if it has one) Then its going to ask you if you want to restart your computer......click "NO".

Reboot your computer into safe mode. To do that is two ways you can simply restart it and while it restarting is tab the F8 key until your finger falls off or you can just go into your System Configuration Utility go to the Boot ini tab click Safe boot and restart your system.

Once in safe mode open your Driver Cleaner make sure its set to whatever your card is ATI, Nvidia, etc. Run the cleaner. Then in the Driver Cleaner there is a Tool Tab click on that and run the Cab Cleaner. After that is complete restart to yout computer to normal. By just restarting the system
or if you went thru your System Configuration Utility go to the Boot ini tab unclick Safe boot and restart your system.

Then go to whatever website like www.ati.com or http://www.nvidia.com/page/home and just download and install your drivers.

Its best to get all rid of all the software from your previous drivers just so then you do not have any more problems. its just a better to safe than be sorry.

Well on add/remove programs i found '' nvidia drivers '' should i just uninstall them?

Remember, my nvidia card isn't in my pc though.

Then by all means, YES ... get rid of all that extra nVidia crap you aren't using.

No those could be your system drivers i would not do that, depends on your motheboard. can you put up a screen shot of your add and remove programs

'nForce chipset' is the motherboard stuff.

'nVidia' is for graphics.

K guys, heres the deal. I just put in my nvidia card again and had some real BAD problems with getting my computer running. After i took of the '' NVIDIA DRIVERS '' in add/remove program i guess i had to go download drivers manually after i put the card it. So i did, i was about to install these

But my computer screen just turned on and off about 4 times.

I went into safe mode and disabled both of my intel chipsets, then my computer could start. But, before it started in a black screen a BUNCH OF DRIVERS started comming up.

I still have intel drivers and such on, could those be causing problems?

oh yea and the problems i had before i took the card out are still here.

I'm looking to do what you said, but how do i take away controll panel? i don't really understand, can you go into more detail? i'm not very good at this.

ugh, one more thing. I just used Driver Cleaner Pro, did this just uninstall all of the drivers????
