    No Anti Aliasing in BF2..

Well, i had this problem before and it previously somehow fixed itself in the course of time but i have no idea how or why! For some reason i cannot for the life of me get AA to work, i change every setting possible to 're-optimise shaders' (including changing AA that asks for a restart of BF) but it never optimises when i load a map, regardless of video changes it doesn't do a thing...

I have just reformatted to add a Raid 0 setup (bought another Raptor) and in the process i have resorted back the same problem i had months ago that 'fixed' itself. Not one to be content for this to 'go away in time' i want to see the awesome gfx i had!! Only thing i can think of is reinstalling...

I have checked and changed the settings in video.con and customvideo.con (i think) to reflect high settings and still no AA and boy it looks cr*p!!

I know others have had this problem and i've tried searching the forums but not come up with any solution/fix...

I'm on an ATI X850XT PE with the 5.10 cats, anyone else had this and worked a solution???

Have you tried with different drivers like Omega, DNA,or Warcats vidoe drivers. If not they can be found here at www.3dacc.net

Well i'm not sure its the drivers doing this as the same thing was hapenning with the 5.8's i had before. I reckon an uninstall/reinstall is the key, but before i try i may just repatch to see if that works....i'm out of ideas

Yeh, i had set to application preference but for some reason it wouldnt do a damn thing in game. Anyways, i have now sorted it, there must have been a driver problem and i bet there are alot of people playing bf2 with no AA and dont realise it, cause although i set to app pref, it didnt do a thing, and its happened to me with 2 sets of drivers and windows installs now...

Anyway, i uninstalled the ATI drivers, then reinstalled the Omega drivers, and i'm impressed! The new setting for Adaptive Anti-Aliasing which is not in any ATI driver ive used to date, is superb, its default is disabled for all cards but the X1XXX series but the X850XT PE's are fine with it too...

Problem solved, a driver re-install sorted everything... me=
