Requesting Sticky - Editing/deleting Prefix

Due to the high number of people complaining about this easily fixable issue, i have taken the time to make this guide. CAn this be stickied so no one complains and asks about it again? It is getting highly annoying.

To insert special characters or delete your prefix entirely,

Go into your BF2 folder in my documents.

My Documents -> Battlefield 2 -> Profiles -> Right click on "Global.con," and open it with Notepad.

Edit the characters (you can include any 6 characters, including ones that the login screen won't allow) in between the quotes in the following line:

GlobalSettings.setNamePrefix ""

For example, if you want the prefix EA-SUX, you would insert that into the quotes:

GlobalSettings.setNamePrefix "EA-SUX"

To delete the entire prefix, simply remove all characters in the quotes.

"EA-SuX", probably the best prefix you could have.

Nice tip, shame that we need to fart around in config files for something so that should be changeable/delete-able in-game.

I agree,you should be able to delete or modify it in game rather than go to your config file.

You can delete it ingame by typing something in the Prefix box and then backspace it out...

Already been done, and with slightly better taste for EA, if you ask me...
