Your Favourite Map ?

If this sounds like a highly unoriginal qustion then please ignore the thread by all means. But i was just curious and this could make for a good discusiion.

What are your top 3 fave maps and why ?

Mine are :

1 : Wake Island

I absolutely love this map. Mianly because its one of the only maps i dont want to use aircraft in despite it being there. Also the fact that its a great sniping map despite no BIG hills or buildings at all. Its also good for well pretty much all untis except for engineers as there would be many tk's from mines since theres onlly really one road through the whole island.

2 : Gulf Of Oman

The map was brilliant and is hwat made me love BF2. Its a brilliant map and after playing for 3 months on the Demo before getting the full game i am a master of Oman. I know all the spots etc and am allways near the top on that map.

3 : Dalian Plant

This is my opinion is the best looking , most beatiful map in the game. Getting a Heli at the Chinese Main Base and flying through that gap in the mountains looks absolutely gorgeous. Its a good map for aircraft and indeed .. brilliant for assault. I love it.

I mainly like maps like Oman / Dalian and Daqing because they have a bit of buildings and also natural terrain. Therefore have a bigger range of enviroments.

So what are your top 3 maps.

First, I'd like to preface this with the fact that I dislike most of the maps that have jets in them.....

1. Sharqi Peninsula

This is by far the best map in the game, great city fighting, you can actually have good squad work on this one. Plus the choppers don'tbother me too much.

2. Strike at Karkand

Another great city map, can get quite crazy with 64 players though. Best thing about the map??? NO airpower......

3. Mashtuur city

This map has some great battles in it. Lots of buildings to hide in/around/snipe from. Great squad play can be had here.....

These are just my personal favorites, I really don't like being constantly bombed from the jets on the other maps. I also dislike flying, so I generally don't play those maps unless I'm on a team that has a good pilot or 2. If you like airpower, more power to ya, It's just not my cup of tea.

BTW, Oman is a great map and I love it when the jets aren't killing me :p

I think I'm really gonna love the expansion pack....

Sorry to say I have no favorites. It relies to heavily on the people currently playing. I can play some great rounds on a map, only to go on a another server, same map, and hate it to death. Getting bombed to death by jets in Oman says nothing about the map, only about your team mates.

My favorite map of all is kubra dam, that where I do my best sniping, most of the time I dont even get touched except by aretillery, but I try not to stay in one spot to much, the only bad thing is I cant get resupplied and it takes me so long to get to my spot that it takes away from my kills, so I have to come out of hiding to get supplies, that when I lose a lot of kills but if I can get supplies droped in i can come away with 10 to 20 with no harm to myself that is if the enemy is real active at my locations, my worst site is wake, but ive only played that map a few times.:banana:

My favourite map would have to be:

Wake Island:

I absolutley love this map, it seems to be the only map I really play these days. Love flying helicopters on it, seems to be a good fair map between both teams if they are evenly matched.

I don't really have any other favourites, Wake Island seems to be the only one I really like.

:ar15: mottz, so ur one of those hated guys on wake who keeps blowing my fanny off the map, lol, depending on what side u play for, personally I play for the marines only. If I get kick to the chinese or the mecs, I go to another server, I know it just a game and most gamers will switch from one side to the other, I just can't seem to play for the other side (sorry) that just the way I feel, mabe it because I spent four years on an Aircraft carrier in an attack squadron. I use to play only on combat flight simulators until I played my first, first person shooter, the Hit Man, now I have, just about ever combat game there is, most of the time I ride my Harley Chopper, do artwork (I'm a retired graphic artist), and play games

I gotta say Strike at Karkand, like most other people I love the intense non-stop action of close quarters city fighting. Also I'm not an ace pilot, so no air traffic is a plus!

I like Dalian Plant over most of the maps. It has something for everyone, whether you want to fly a plane or chopper, if you want to ride in armor or if you want to ground pound. Plus the fact that there are plenty of obstacles like cranes, mountains and the nuclear towers, which means the planes need to pay a little more attention as to their approach vector and exit.

dunno .. the destroyed buildings and fires ... it looks like an Iraqi city like Falluja or Ramdi .... gives me extra reason to kill every enemy i see !!

exellent map ! like Wake , good combo !! and very nice detailed map !
