Bizarre connection prob

Hi all,

Up until 2 days ago I was a happy BF2 user. Unfortunately when I tried to play the day before yesterday, I was met with a problem.

When I logged in, it took much longer than usual. My stats did eventually come up, but when I updated the server list I get a limited number (60 - 100) servers which have pings of either 0 or >1000.

Most of these refuse my connection ("check network settings") but the occasional one accepted me. In this case I got into the game only to have unplayable lag and 1000+ ping, which lead to a rapid kick.

I have not changed anything on my system - I have an Ethernet connection and normally have a ping of 10 or less. I have checked that my firewall is allowing bf2 and have updated all my drivers and the log in problem is gone, but the server ping issue remains.

I am really stumped by this one, please anyone help me!

thanks for the reply. I successfully updated PB manually, but I still have the problems regarding servers, in that I only get 30 or so servers on the list and the pings are in excess of 700. When I try to connect to a server, I am given a "check your network connections" error.

My comp specs are as follows:

AMD Athlon XP 3200
2GB RAM
80GB HD
Geforce 6600
10MB ethernet connection

Any other ideas?

check your favorites at top of server selection screen should have auto saved the last servers you played on
