invalid cd key fix!!! here it is!

here i found something that helped me after notheing else helped (reenter cd key, reinstall)

its from a german forum so ill quote and translate:

"einfach als Administrator anmelden und

1. Startet nochmal den Patch
2. Wählt die Sprache aus, dann auf weiter klicken
3. Beim Willkommen-Bildschirm nicht auf weiter gehen
4. Das Patch-Fenster offen lassen und über Start auf Ausführen gehen
5. Dann %temp% eingeben und ok drücken
6. Es sollte eine neuer Ordner z.B.{03A9E526-2B99-4AF2-BC50- D26A2CFB516D}zu sehen sein, ggf. über Geändert am herausfinden... Darin ist ein Unterordner z.B. {F317E784- F31C-4F26-A610-2D7BD89FEC5F}
7. Darin befinden sich 12 Dateien u.a. die Datei BF2CDKeyCheck.exe. Diese starten!
8. Achtung, es kommt keine Rückmeldung ob überhaupt etwas geschehen ist!!!
9. Patch abbrechen !

english:

1. if u have version 1.3 just start the patch again (installer version no matter which one u used to patch game).
2. select language and press "next"
3. wait for the welcome screen but DONT press next. just leave the window as it is.
4. go to start and execute? (sry i have a german winxp so i dont know what the exact name of the button is. its the one where u enter commands like regedit or cmd or whatever)
5. enter "%temp%" without " "
6. a window opens with a bunch o stuff and some folders something like {03A9E526-2B99-4AF2-BC50- D26A2CFB516D}. look for the newest one by date and time (shouzld be from right then) and in that folder there shouzld be another folder like {F317E784- F31C-4F26-A610-2D7BD89FEC5F} or something.
7. in that folder there should be 12 files. one of them named BF2CDKeyCheck.exe. execute it! there is no confirmationb so yoou only need to execute it once.

8. start bf2 and play.


Hope this helps some poeple it worked for me and i was ready to call ea and tell them to %&$§%§$"§%%

if you use the search function here on forum, and search for topics where titles contain invalid you will find similar posts, explaining the exact same procedure. ;-)

and there's no need to cross post in both forums, once in client support should be enough.

This fix does work, however all it does is restore playing status to the Windows User that you are logged in to when you do the fix. And the fix can't be reversed as you'll see below.

For example: After installing 1.03, BF2 worked on my user, but not my brother's. So I did this 'fix' on his user, and now he can play BF2 on his user, but I can't anymore. It's a stupid process of assigning the CD key to certain windows users, which is absolutely ridiculous given the fact that Windows XP has been out for years now. The ****ing morons at Dice ****ed this game up again, hopefully they fix it for 1.04. Retards.
