Do you fly planes with mouse look?

I fly using a Logitech 3D Pro joystick. Here are my questions:

1. I am wondering if those of you who use a keyboard and mouse to fly also use mouse look?

2. Do you believe this provides an advantage during dogfights or other flying maneuvers?

3.Can mouse look be mapped to the hat switch on a joystick?

4 Is the use of a hat switch for mouse look practical?

Would love to have it in my Cyborg Evo.
I play Lockon modern air combat...and its great in a dogfight.

Ya they had to hotwhire it in the code so you cant change it, grrrrr. IF you keybind you can prob switch it.

Cant wait tell the day when we play games using googles, the screen is the lense, then we can move our head without moving our body. We would have a 190 degree view of the battlefield. Cant wait for the day.

I use a joystick, Logitech 3d Pro to be exact. I've never bothered to try and use a mouse but I can only assume it doesn't allow for any sharper turns than with a joystick, but I'm going to test it out and see for myself. Right now I fly with a rather unique configuration, or rather I'm sure it's not the norm. My right hand on joystick, and my left hand on my mouse. I use the mouse to control all of my map functions, but most importantly I use it in concert with my joystick which has a particular button bound for mouse look. So I can quickly look side to side in my cockpit using joystick/mouse which can be invaluable in a dogfight. As for dogfighting tips, I've got plenty, but the best one I can give is... practice, of course .

I use my joystick's POV hat to do mouselooking and for commo rose functionality.

I use mouse and keyboard. I use the ctrl and mouse to look around. A bit dodgy in some tight turns as you right your vision and you greet the ground

I fly with mouse and keyboard, not perfect but it works.

Now the dumb part, what is mouselook ??

Mouselook is pointless and distracts you from owning people in the Jet.

When using the mouselook using the hatswitch..it's works very well. It looks quickly in that direction and as soon as you let go of the hatswitch, it springs your view directly back to center.

It isn't too distracting.

Great in a transport chopper when you're trying to cap a flag...you can look around and spot targets for your gunners.

My hatswitch on my Cyborg evo is mapped to the F9-F12 keys (by default) which give you your different plane POV's.

i just set my hat to the "F" views i would much rather have that then a mouse look. I have the Cyborg Evo also

With JoyToKey, I ALSO have the F keys mapped to the POV hat To switch views, all I do is hold down a button on my stick and the POV hat becomes a camera POV switch. Release the button and it's back in mouselook mode.

I may like having the F keys mapped to the hat switch, but that's pretty nice having the camera look on the hat. It seems more intuitive that way.
