custom maps

Hello,

I want to have some custom maps at my gameserver and i have downloaded the Berlin map. I have uploaded the Berlin directory to /mods/bf2/levels/

When i start the server it gives an error: Cant find the map called berlin. When i put another map in its working. Some maps are working. Can anyone say me how i can run the Berlin map? Its a linux server.

This might sound like a dumb question but how do you get the other maps to work. I uploaded the directory wit the server and client zip to the mods/bf2/levels folder and they do not show on BF2CC for me to select them. Can you please help I want to offer mod maps to my clan and I can figure it out at all and no one can help me. Thanks in advance.

Do a search for custom maps with linux - it has been answered before but I forget how. I think you have to have the name in a specific form or something for linux

seems alot want to know this maybe you should have a sticky for it :)

this is what i posted on another forum

ok depends on if you have a linux or windows server, windows is easy but linux it a little bit harder

first upload you map folder this is path on your server this may differ if your using a mod

/bf2/mods/bf2/levels

now once you have it there you have to change the name of the folders as linux is case sensitive so for example say you upload the Living_Hell map

on the server rename the folders as below

Living_hell to living_hell

and in side that folder you have to rename the Info folder to info
now inside there you also have to rename the Living_Hell.desc file to living_hell.desc

now for the bf2cc got to the main bf2cc program folder and you will see a BF2CC_Config.xml right click and press edit now go down and look for the list of maps names and add your to the end

and save now when you restart the program up you can add your custom map to your maplist but if you do this and save then press refersh and the maps name dispears then there is a problem with the map on the server or you have mispelled it somewhere

I have done all that and tripple checked it and still no go. I was using the Strike at Karkand 2 so I know it has to be a good file but still no luck. This is so fustrating. EA should be more clear on how to install custom maps. LOL
