Niether. The biggest threat to the helo pilot is the "bad gunner" sitting right next to him. You know, the one that attracts the attention of every living thing on the map by incessantly pelting armored vehicles with gunfire? Or manages to fire off 300 warning shots to the Mi28 as you attempt to get in position for a rocket salvo behind and above him (he has no idea you are there until your gunner alerts him). A bad gunner is infinitetly worse than none at all. Its like putting a huge siren and neon lights on your Cobra screaming "Shoot me, shoot me, I'm an idiot!!" :)
Rant over. Felt it fit perfectly into the poll though heh.

That said, the "handheld" machine guns do laughable damage to the attack helos. Thus, on the grounds of the poll, Eryx/Sraws/TOWs are a much greater threat. However, the mounted guns are worst of all.

Yeah, i just hate gettn into a attack heli and a gunner comes in that's unexperienced. If they enemy is smoking, or is infantary, you may use the cannon, if they are not, use the TV missile first, and don't shoot hte cannon unless they already know where you are and the TV missile is reloading. I've shot down lots of enemy attack helis with a TV missile, it's very fun, and quite easy. THe cannon gives you away on a sneak attack.

The chinese made AK-47 is my weapon of choice to take out gunners well mostly all ground units. I love this gun!!111 MUhahahahaha

AA rockets and such are my only problem. Or the gun on the carriers that can rip you to shreds... When I would take a flag while I hover I would only fly away if I had a lock on me, or I hear a shot go through my glass.

And like the poster above me a few said. Having a dumb copilot really screws up your game. I mean I had some copilot try to shoot a few enemies in the tv rockets instead of using their brain and use the gun which does a far better job.

i find that my biggest threat is some twat on my team who claims the heli was his and not mine and either shoots me or plants c4 etc on heli, lets me take off and fly for about 30secs and then...BOOM!

after that it's those nasty mounted jeep guns altho, 1 of them shoot a blackhawk down....how thick is the armour on the bottom??? lol "Protective armor on the Black Hawk can withstand hits from 23mm shells", but not rounds from a mounted mg eh?

its also a bit odd when u get hit by a tank shell and, realistically it wud totaly wipe out the heli but instead u live, then live the 2nd shot, lol - whats up with that?

and another fact of interest about the black hawk "The UH-60A, with a crew of three, can lift an entire 11-man fully-equipped infantry squad in most weather conditions"

entire 11man infantry squad eh? then how come the blackhawk only allows 6people, inc the pilot (without co-pilot)???

I didn't vote since I'm not a pilot but I'll second this. I don't think many people realize how much a GL 'nade hurts a helo. Tough to hit unless it's hovering pretty close though.

Yup. These will shoot down choppers more times than an AT. Which is why we need Flak and not stingers.

Do they still use flak?

I hope to god they do if real life stingers are anything like the ones in BF2.

AT Rockets are the most deadly... combined with a well placed 203 or two and the helo is going down.

Rockets.

The machine guns take several overheats before the helicopter is in trouble.

You can scare off a helicopter a lot faster with a rocket, if not destroy it.

Im an experienced helicopter pilot with 70+ hrs flight time... the SAW's and PKM's etc. are a bugger but you can turn away do a quick turn and take them out before they do any decent damage... a SRAW or ERYX though... once your hit your hit, damage done, one more and your out... time for repairs.
