AT Weapons obviously.. the SAW does little to no damage...

THe AT missile. The LMG/MMGs (the PKM is technically an MMG, or you could just call them all GPMG (general purpose mgs) but oh well) take 600(PKM)-1200(SAW/PLA LMG) bullets to down a heli. I've tested it before, i used two whole belts from the saw, constantly firing at a BH, when i got in, it only took away 1/3 health.

I worry most about the machine guns on jeeps and such. They are the only true AA in this game.

Since I'm rarely in a chopper now I can't really vote, but what I do like doing is waiting for smoke to pour from an enemy chopper and then hitting it with an Eryx =)

the infantry machine guns ain't going to take your chopper down, even two guys at the same time shooting at you. Maybe you are mistaking the infantry machine guns with mounted .50 's on vehicles, these are deadly for choppers.

Yeah, LMG are pathetic against helis, the only good aa are stingers/glas (upgraded from 1.03) and 50 cals, those 50 cals take out like 2 bars of health for less than 1 second of constant firing. THey just completely kill choppers.

Yup. These will shoot down choppers more times than an AT. Which is why we need Flak and not stingers.

The PKM is ok but the AT Missile does the job.

I've shot down 10x more choppers with the Jeep Machine gun than the AA.
Pilots memorize the AA emplacements and mow them down.

I realize that the vehicle-mounted machineguns are good against helicopters... but the poll is asking about the infantry-carried LMGs vs the AT rockets.

Niether. The biggest threat to the helo pilot is the "bad gunner" sitting right next to him. You know, the one that attracts the attention of every living thing on the map by incessantly pelting armored vehicles with gunfire? Or manages to fire off 300 warning shots to the Mi28 as you attempt to get in position for a rocket salvo behind and above him (he has no idea you are there until your gunner alerts him). A bad gunner is infinitetly worse than none at all. Its like putting a huge siren and neon lights on your Cobra screaming "Shoot me, shoot me, I'm an idiot!!" :)
Rant over. Felt it fit perfectly into the poll though heh.

That said, the "handheld" machine guns do laughable damage to the attack helos. Thus, on the grounds of the poll, Eryx/Sraws/TOWs are a much greater threat. However, the mounted guns are worst of all.

I back that as well, it was easier shootin down a plane with a flak gun in BF1942 than it is to shoot down a heli with a stinger, that's pretty ironic, considering that helis are easier to shoot down, and stingers are much more advanced than flak guns. Flak guns woul totally RIP APART helis, seriously.
