    Help improving performence on laptop

I've got an Alienware Area51m laptop, I love this thing

    P4 2.8
ATI mobility Radeon 9600 128 mb
    512 ram
    40 gb

I run everything on low and i've never had a crash or problem since but i'm getting sick of the crappy graphics and I've tried running everythin on medium but it gets choppy every 10 seconds and lags horribly. Can anyone suggest something to help improve the performence of my lappy to run everything on atleast medium? Thanks

by a PC unless you want too replace your laptop for a 2 grand one. Extra RAM helps but in your case its very doubtful that it will make any difference.

    Alienware laptops suck really bad.

You might want to try the util called SpeedSwitchXP:

Using this util in performance mode, will ensure that your CPU runs at max speed.
If you rely on the built-in power settings on a laptop the CPU might slow down to lesser speeds to save power.
