Help Me!!

im not an expert on computers, so i have no idea what the problem is.
The problem started yesterday. It happens the most when im flying a jet or chopper and being a gunner ect. The screen will go black for about 2 seconds then be back to normall, if the screen is not going back the game is very laggy (even when my ping is around 30'). I lowered some settings too make the game run a little smoother, these are the settings i currently run:
all medium, geometry is high, view distance 100%, 2x AA
Before the settings change it was on half medium, half on high and it ran fairly well (laggy in some places)
My specs are:

Pentium 4 3.4ghz
1Gd DDRZ-SDRAM
Geforce 6200 256mb
Win. XP
nothing is overclocked, it has just been taken out the box and set up.
So can anyone help a very sad gamer :cry:

I forgot it also crashes too the desktop, and exits the game so you return too the desktop and its like you never played the game.

Set dynamic lighting and shadows to low.

Any idea what your temps are like?

Otherwise, delete your cache and start up a single player game.

Then defragment your C drive.

I have done that and it stops, BUT its strange that when i was running the game on higher settings this problem never happened, it was only when i lowered some settings
