Black screen then straight back to desktop

Just upgraded to to the following:

P4 3.0Ghz
1GB RAM DDR2
2x PNY Verto 6600GT 128MB
ASUS P5ND2 SLi Delux MB
HD1 WD 120GB HDD
HD2 WD 120GB HDD

Using latest NVidia Driver SLi enabled a profile has been set up within the NVidia management software. When I start BF2 splash screen pops up the screen goes black for a moment, then dumps me back to desktop. Can anyone help before I re format and start again?

So you installed Windows and then installed BF2? Or was BF2 already on one of the HDD's that came from a different machine?

I moved the hard disk from one system to the other. So BF was still installed.

Reinstall BF2.. I had a similar problem this week after upgrading from a SBLive! 5.1 to an Audigy 2ZS. Reinstalling BF2 cured the problem. The same thing happened when I upgraded from a GF6600GT to a GF6800GT (and yes I used DH Driver cleaner etc). Every other game and application is fine, it seems BF2 is sensitive to hardware changes.

Wow..easy fix.

Uninstall and re-install.

Or maybe all you have to do is to delete your BF2 cache and profiles.

i had the same problem except it only happened after i installed the patch(1.03)
