I just purchased the Saitek x-52 joystick with the separate throttle assembly. I had a logitech before that. Talk about a world of difference. Not only does it just look badass - it is completely programmable and customizable.

I bought mine on sale from Circuit City just a few weeks ago - was $87 total - free shipping.

I have the Saitek X-45 and really didn't like it. How does the X-52 compare? I found the X-45 really bulky and hard to use subtly.

At first it was like trying to pat your head and rub your tummy - both at the same time as riding a unicycle. Give it a little time and it grows on you.

I have not found it to be bulky in the least. It is very comfortable - contours are perfect for comfortable hand placement, along with having adjustments for hand size.

Once I got them mounted to my desk in a better comfortable position it makes flying awesome. I can kick back in my chair and relax while flying which makes it that much better.
