Here's my SPM increase. Sure it still sucks. I used to suck. Horribly. Just recently I become "good".My SPM for the past 50 hours has probably been around 2.7 which is pretty good considering I'm not in a jet or karkand 24/7. My KTD has been pretty high also, my frag rate was around .85, and now I bring it up like .3 every day, and am at like .98 now, almost even.



No, I'm not trying to brag, just showing an example of a learning curve.

this guy is total BS. just looking at the insane amount of kills he has VS deaths should give EVERYONE a clue. i don't care how good he claims to be. i'd expect him to be getting killed 10 times in a row while waiting for a jet and just giving up and going for a ground fight but the stats don't show that!

From a tactical standpoint, the most logical approach to dealing with a skilled enemy is to deny him access to the situations in and/or equipment with which he excels.

As such, any team that is opposed to Planewhore, or any other impact pilot, should dedicate their best saboteurs to suppressing the pilot, the aircraft, or both. Boobytrapping, shooting the jet down upon takeoff, or just stealing the jets are worthwhile tactics.

"good" pilots i've conquered are bayblaze2, firebird~*DS*~, captTK[wtf], (CB4)akaNE[A] etc.

Colony....I don't begrudge you that you have vastly improved from the first and last times we flew against each other....you weren't easy to shootdown at first, and certainly you got me 3 times in a row on Clean Sweep when I was in the F15....And actually I don't even consider myself an excellent pilot in this game, my ranking and scores are from playing the hell out of the game for too many hours (only one other guy has more time in planes than I do)....The only problem I may develop with either you or PlaneWhore is the seemingly total lack of humility. I don't mind getting bested by better pilots...happens all the time...sometimes I find pilots without great scores that are hard as hell to shake off...and some pilots without great aviator rankings make me look like an amatuer with what I've seen them do with these planes....Nonetheless, what's always important to me is whether the guy has some humility or not....I play and admin on a server where there are excellent pilots, and I enjoy playing with and against them because they are not braggards and do not flame on people in the team chat....When I run across a player, whether he be a pilot or not, and whether he be a "good" pilot or not, but he demonstrates that he has the horrible personality to berate and flame on his competitors, I will not enjoy playing with or against him, and will most likely leave the server, even if I was doing well against him....

Like I said, I don't necessarily consider myself a "really" good pilot in this game, despite my high ranking, and I appreciate if some other pilots do consider me a good pilot and worthy competition in the air, but I never flaunt it or berate or flame other players....The last time we met, even before I ever got in a plane, you were shooting down the poor fellow who was beating me to it and each time telling him he "sucked" and once you even implored him to "let Bayblaze fly, at least he's good..you're not"....I thought berating him like that was really unbecoming, and I even purposely let him have the plane a few more times because I was considering just leaving the server rather than play there....I ended up staying, and admittedly died in the hanger a few times while you raped it and each of the 3 times I got the injured F15 up, I was unable to shake you and you finished me off....good for you, but even then you constantly tried to berate me as well.....My point is, it doesn't make for a player wanting to enjoy playing with or against you.

I was a Captain in the Army, and an AH-1S Cobra pilot for 6 years in the AirCav, so I know what is and what is not conduct that is appropriate for a "warrior" with "honor"....and humility is a big part of it....I just wish some players would find a bit more of it.

Well IMO the most credit has to be given to Planewhore for his ability to camp plane spawns with
a) getting into planes very often and
b) not getting killed in the process

Otherwise the flying isn´t really a glorious achievement, due to the next to useless AA. That there have been instances where people get hit by AA 2-3 times in a row is just a statistical anomaly, not a proof that "AA works, it´s just that only every 20000th player can operate it correctly".
In most cases there isn´t even time to "time shots" with the AA as you have to fire ASAP if you want to fire guided and not dumb missiles, due to the short lock on range. Yeah I know, I should wait for the next pass then, but I´ll probably be dead before or while the second pass.

Planewhore, I think you're really good at flying, but how can you say that the AA is anywere near balanced? Stinger sites are open to the air because they have to have a field of view. This, coupled with the fact that they don't move and every good pilot knows where they are, means that they are deathtraps for the cannons. The Essex sites are a joke because of the now limited range after the patch. A good pilot detroys them before it even locks on. You say that there is a specific angle, distance speed that the planes have to be for someone to use AA effectively. By saying that, you notice that there are some severe flaws in the targeting system when a missile going dead on can not hit a ****ing target. AA vehicles have more missiles, but a **** poor lock on range and armor people love to get them as easy targets, so they don't last long. These planes are not on Wild Weasel missions, they're just flying around. Hell, it was the Wild Weasels job to take on SAMs, and even with all the training, special jamming, and altered planes, they still had high losses.

Some would call me an armor whore, I've spent about a quarter of my time in it, and in armor I have almost a 10:1 kd ratio. This is mostly attributable to the fact that I usually play city maps and bail out of a burning vehicle so I technically don't die in one (my engineer kd ratio of 4ish is far closer to the truth). But there are infantry that can take out the armor. There is a class that is dedicated to this one pupose, anti-tank. Spec ops do a fine job with c4 and so do engineers with mines. The TOWs are powerful, taking out an apc in one hit, and a tank in one hit if you get the right spot. There is no effective counter to planes except another plane. And that's not how bf2 is supposed to work.

Can someone who claims to be good at AA, or you Planewhore, tell us what this magical combination of speed, distance, and bearing needs to be for us to actually hit you? And don't BS and say, "Oh it just takes skill." Plane combat takes skill, infantry combat takes skill, vehicle combat takes skill, but hitting a plane is just blind ass luck. I'm not knocking on your skill as a pilot as that is apparent to rack up so many kills in such a short time, but saying that AA is actually balanced makes you look silly.

I used to think that the AA is fine after the patch... now... I strongly believe that I was wrong to think that way.

PlaneWhore.... AA sux and that is why you can get such a huge K/D ratio (even if you are a good pilot). Did you play DesertCombat? What was your K/D ratio if ever remeber? (if you ever played that game!)
The SA3 in DesertCombat was a serious threat for evey pilot. I wish that EA add something like the SA3 to this game.

Jet pilots must have the same chance of getting killed like any other player in this game. We all know that this game is not realistic. It is an arcade game... not realistic my friend!. Actually realism sux for this game, but EA screwd up many things like the redicilous armor on the choppers, and the fact that the jets are untouchable is very annoying. All of the IGLAs are positioed in very well known places. The first thing a pilot should do is to take care of them before doing anything else... which is very easy to do.

The PlaneWhore profile only exists because I use different graphical options while flying versus ground pounding (no shadows for one) and a completely different control scheme.

could you post a screenshot of your video settings (for the PlaneWhore account)? i didn't know turning your shadows off would help in flying.

In the late days of bf42 I used to fly a lot. I used to play a lot on Shock&Awe Clan server that has a "no fly zone" map only.

There were some damn good pilots. The best one I can remember was "Intern" or something like that. He used to score something like 30-40 kills in a round but he used to be killed several times in a round. So he was not untouchable! is he one of you guys?!?!?!

I also remeber a guy who's name was RodgerTheRussian or something similar. he was damn good but I was able to take him down ... so he was not untouchable.

Does anyone of you guys know these names?! I was "F1" BTW

LOL oh yea i remember that. The guy was ****ing me off cuz if i remember right he was flying out of bounds to try to get me killed along with him(so that our energy would go down, which is a gay thing to do). I only talk smack to get the other pilots to try harder. I need competition. Its nothing personal...if you take anything anyone says online in a game personally, you need to look at your maturity. I love talking smack to those who think they ar e the hot sh*t pilot cuz they spawn raped me a couple times at an airbase even before i was even in the air. Then when i shoot them down, it makes me all warm inside :evil:

For you , it was more of a "let me try to provoke him" for a challenge. Oh and as for not wanting to play against me....thats how it should be, Im glad about that part cuz that means im doing my job and l337zor pWn|ng :laugh:
