    Big problem, please help!

hi guys, only just registered, but i've been viewing this site since january :p

no, that's not my problem, my problem is that i've just recently got bf2 with my new computer, single player - all is fine etc

now i wanna play online, so i download the new patch, create an account and so off i go! i was in a rush, went in a server for the first time, ran around killed a team mate and had a score of -4 before i had to go!

now whenever i just enter a server, my game freezes! after it loads whilst i'm joining a game i then click join game and then it's froze at spawn selection point and where you choose your weopan, the mouse cursor doesn't move, pressing esc does nothing, but yet the action i can hear and see in the background is still going on and then i eventually have to switch off my comp

sorry for the long post, but i'm hoping someone will know what is wrong and will know how to solve this problem i have

    thanks in advance (hopefully )

    :)

and it stays this way or not ? if you wait a bit it should come to normal.

if it doesn't come to normal, you have to reinstall your game, realy sorry.

Delete your controls.con files under your profiles.

        look under:
        My Documents\Battlefield 2\Profiles

You'll see a numbered subfolder for each of your created subfolders. Just look for the controls.con file and delete it.

It sounds like it simply got corrupted.

You'll have to re-bind your controls, of course

Can i ask what your connection is, reason being , when i was waiting for my new isp, wirless broadband , i tried dial up and it gave me syptoms that your giving,

also if you have broadband , get your line tested, it possible that it may be that. i wnet online with a ping of 46 then it spiked to 1023, it ended in being kicked.

3rd, go into your control pan select interent options , go into delete files and cookies.

                  have you defragmented since installing.

and yes its possible something is running in the background, that would indeed cause your syptoms,

right click your desktop , click task manager , look to see if you have things running, now u can end programs on this but please be carefull, if u dont know what it is dont touch it, if u have for eg. itunes.exe, msnexe, get them off they are a pain.

                  hope this helps u
