Game Controls Alternatives

Just started playing, but I hate using the Keyboard to control movement and the mouse to aim, Does anybody know of a good xbox/ps2 like controller for the pc to use that would make game play easier.

NO!!!!!!!

Forget the PS2 lame pads and adapt to using the mouse and keyboard. I know it's akward at first, but eventually you will find it completely natural. I promise you that if you spend a few hours using the keyboard/mouse in single-player (so you don't get frustrated being owned all the time), you'll groan just like I did when you see someone making posts like this.

On the otherhand, there are some alternatives that give you the best of both worlds... Check these out:

I like these things. The keys are well placed and very easy to re-map. I also find it more comfortable to use for extended periods of time than the normal keyboard. I also like the fact that you can place it beside your keyboard and still type quick in-game chat messages nice and simple.

This is not my personal favorite, but lots of people swear by them. It's a keyboard with interchangable pieces so you can re-configure the layout to suit the needs of your game and personal taste.

This is a mouse. Why would you care about a better mouse?
Easy! Because it's enhanced tracking makes it way smoother to use and the extra buttons can be configued to any game function you might need. I just picked one of these up (repleacing my old MS Explorer Optical) and I'm lovin it!

Trust me chummer, you really want to break that gamepad habbit if you want to do well with BF2!

I agree totally. Once you get used to mouse and keyboard it is a thousand times better for control.

Ya know... there's a reason that they outlawed keyboard/mouse controls from the Halo Tournaments.

The only good thing pads are for is driving games and gta manly because gta was designed on a PS2.

I would personnaly get a z-board if your going to get a controler, dunno why they just look cool, though a standard mouse and keyboard are fine, if you want to fly planes you need a joystick though.

What I didn't like about the Zboard is that it becomes a mess trying to type for chat when you re-configure the layout.

I personally much prefer the Nostromo Speed Pad since it's detached. Infact, with mine I move the entire keyboard out of my tray up to the desk's main surface (where I still have easy access) and have only the speedpad and my mouse on the tray. This gives me LOTS of room to move my mouse, so I can turn the sensitivity down and get much more accurate aiming.

The palm support is nice too. Very comfortable and doesn't put your wrists at risk.

i love my XBOX CONTROLLER...IT IS THE BEST, ROBUST AND DURABLE.
i do good with it.
i previously had the thrustmaster dual analog ..didnt feel right.
