Chill mate, I can assure you that won't happen, as this guide doesn't point a gun to their head making them select the sniper class, and it's not THAT overwhelmingly popular. I just want to make the point that snipers are not useless in BF2, there's a way of using them correctly.

Thank you on your support everyone, it is greatly appreciated.

Sorry I couldn't post it on these forums, as I would have to change all the tags.

Psycho, I disagree. For all you know, someone could of seen or heard your shot and be hunting for you. You should always move after a shot... Unless, you feel your position is at the very best of places to hide eg. Grass.
finally someone besized me know real tactics!!!!!

The sniper M95 is good, but I prefer the silenced 92FS. The moment I miss a shot, I would immediately switch to the pistol. Amazingly, I get more kills from the pistol than the rifle itself. The pistol is a very powerful weapon, since it's silened. If an enemy comes nearby, don't be dumb and use the sniper rifle. He can hear where the shot comes from and he will kill you. The pistol is magic, and you only need 5 shots to finish a guy off. It isn't too bad, if you compare the medic's rifle needing 4 shots to kill a guy, and the medic's gun is not silenced.

The claymores are also saviours, but too bad you can only carry 2. I have also seen teammates purposely jumping over my mine and getting killed, and then punishing me. The only place the mine is useful is in Strike at Karkand. You plant a few claymores at the Hotel, and then wait for the kills to come in. If you are lucky, you can kill 2 or 3 people with 1 mine.

Nice pictures! I love sniping and agree with all your tips. Just be careful when you're the squad leader, your members can give your position away - but a sniper squad is a force to be reckoned with.

No we're not. Noob snipers can't hit anything, and end up being easy targets. It's a frustrating class to play as if you suck at it. This isn't the first sniper guide ever posted.. We don't have an influx of noob snipers from all the other sniper guides, so why would this be any different?

Trust me, if they suck, they'll get tired of playing sniper real quick.

i'm inpressed that you care enough about the new players to do something like this(and some of the old stupid players:), its a really nice guide, though i disagree with your favorite sniper rifle (most of my sniping is done at ranges where you need more acuaracy than the M95 is capable of).

Awesome guide, with some questionable illustrations. :)

But it is no use to me becasue I am always a medic.

anyone that has a strict "shoot and move rule" has probably watched Enemy at the Gates and thought it was a tutorial.

If you are in "assault sniper" mode - youre sniping on the move anyway

If youre in "classic sniper" mode - then i would stay put most of the time.

The whole, shooting gives away our position therefor you should move is crap...moving is FAR MORE LIKELY to give you away in my experience. Youre never more than few metres from a bad guy.

This is a game - youre in a small space with a lot of bad guys around you...not a huge city filled with empty buildings.

And hiding in grass in most cases is useless because it isnt rendered beyond a few metres. Unless youre conceled from range shots - then hiding in the undergrowth is great.

Its best not to have preconcieved ideas about where to hide, i prefer to just make anywhere a hiding place...then you have no pattern...even if its right out in the open.
