can't connect, slow frames

Hi fellas, I have a big problem with BF2. I recently installed a new copy of BF2 and I get 3 problems

1. After "loading complete. Verifying client data." comes up, I go to the server page, instead of joing the game ): {(

2.When a click on a server, I get this after a few seconds "Unable to connect to server, check connections"

3. After about 30 mins, when I finally joined a game, I got 2-3 frames a second until it froze ): {(

Now I have geforce 6800, amd3500, 1gig of ram, a7n8x deluxe mobo so shouldn't get low frames. Any help would be very appreciated.

Make sure you scan for viruses, spyware, adware, things like that.

Make sure all of your drivers are updated and installed properly.

Make sure your firewall allows BF2 to play through.

Make sure you connect to a server with a low ping. Generally they will give you a better online experience.

How do I do this?

Sometimes the game even freezes. I press ctrl+alt+del but nothing happens. Any suggestions?

YOU have to find out what kind of firewall is running on your machine (Windows native, Norton, Zonealarm... We can't help you do that.
