Joystick doesn't want to work.

Well, I picked up BF2 and a Logitech Atk 3 joystick today.

I plugged in the joystick, checked under the Control Panel and saw that it was working when I clicked into the "Game Controllers" subfolder. However whenever I'm in game it doesn't work at all. There is no actions indicating it is even on. Do I need to go into the game to enable joysticks?

no but you have to go to options to configure the buttons

just be careful when settingthe axis if it says roll right make sure you push to the right as both axis get set at same time

You have to actually SET UP the joystick by binding the buttons.

Go to the Options -> Controls section and then choose the Airplane or Helicopter tab.

You'll see two columns of binds. Left click once in the second column beside the action you want to bind, and then hit the corresponding joystick button you want to bind it to.

Rinse and repeat.

Don't forget to apply and save.
