How do you set claymore with getting TK's?

Hello everyone I am still very much a noob (look at my sig) and was wondering how to set claymores on roads/ladders (places where the enemy will walk without having some teammate run into it and get me TK. I have tried on ladders
but someone always comes up 5 minutes and TK. How do the pros use claymores.

they are power ups.... so everyone wants one... and Claymores kill your teamm8s more often than the enemy

It doesn't matter, cause there will be real 'noobs' that dont try to avoid the big red X and think its still fun to punish.

i find myself randomly dropping claymores in the middle of feilds, only to blow myself up ten minutes later.

You won't avoid the TK's as everyone has said before, people just love 'collecting' the mines!

The best way i have found to use them is when you are sniping on an enemy advance, they spot you and 3-5 people start runninng straight for you, then back up over the crest of the hill or behind the bush you were hiding in and drop them there. They almost always run straight into them and get you an easy kill. plus by the time they work out whats going on you should have set up again and take a few more out!!

Other best place would be at the top of staircases that you know the enemy will run up like the ones at the west side of the Shaqui map where the main MEC rush comes from...

Apart from that they arn't the best wepon but can be used effectively, you just need to think 'where will me team NOT run' and place them there!

use them offensively. If you found yourself in a situation like E1_Pr3seidente did, it works great. However, it also works for buggies trying to run you over. Just lay a claymore and stand still. They'll try to run you over and they'll get blown up. Another thing is using it while you cap a base. Lay a claymore near a staircase, and, if someone doesn't come, blow it up with a grenade (as you can do for mines too), then repeat. Check your minimap for friendlies prior. This strategy is really best for those endless fights over the bridge at Strike at Karkand where no one caps anything and you find youself taking the jeep all the way to the front base.

Yeah, using them defensively usually ends up killing your own blind teammates. It's great for when you see an enemy run into a building with only 1 entrance though, they never know what hit them when they run back out.

If you want to place the claymores on ladders, its possible to place the claymores far enough back that they won't immediately kill the guy as soon as his head pops up, but WILL kill him if he tries to make it all the way over the ladder.

Also a good place for claymores is in spawn points when capping an enemy base -- ie. Sharqi Peninsula in the tower or in Karkland in the 3 alleys.

Just make sure you remove the claymores after your team has capped it though ...

i used the claymores today, when i 3 people where chasing me i ran around a corner threw a claymore out ran around the other corner, threw anoter one out,
pulled my M95 out and just waited... boom killed one and a couple of seconds later i got anoter kill and then the last guy came aorund the corner shoot him in the chest and then shot him with my pistol then i got killed by a guy that came up from behind

Is there any bounderies for how close you come to the claymore until it explodes.

When i see a claymore i am like 5 steps away from it and it still kills me, is this a glitch or is there a way to dodge the claymore somehow, and also is it possible to jump over it?

It's too hard not to get TK's by claymores to even bother throwing them out. Even if you place one right by their flag by throwing it from a BH, someone from that BH will jump out and land on it.

Here's one thing I learned about claymores the hard way ...

Everyone knows since 1.03 that you can detonate claymores using grenades

Basically I tried to detonate a claymore that was facing me while using a grenade (I was in front of it but out of its detection radius). Apparently though claymores have a farther lethal blast range (10+ feet) than they do a detection range (About 5 feet). So just be careful when setting these off.
