By doing stuff that helps your team get points, you get points, because:

As a commander, if you repair something, does it still show up in the stats, even though you don't get a point directly?

you never ever got points for arty (unless you resigned which would make it statpadding)...

and let me repeat it just once more... : you NEVER EVER got points for anything but your teams score...
I'm not so sure of this. I was an engineer/commander and I got my engineer combat badge from using artillery on people. Why do you think arty doesn't give you points? What's your reasoning?

Let me also note that I blame this on EA. They should tell you what points you get and why. Mystery = annoying.

Well is that not just do to the fact you were getting points (from your teammates) while you were an engineer?

Is the commander the only want to get the 2x bonus if your team wins?

For the engineer combat badge, it has to be kills.

Arty doesn't give you points and never did. But the points are still counted in BFHQ and you can still get badges with arty but not points.

The manual says that the commanders score is baded on how well your team plays.
The Official guide to BF2 says that it's an average of the teams score plus a x2 bonus for a win.

What more do you want them to say exactly?
