what do you mean vehicle camper? look at the LMG stats...that's my kills with the support class machine gun which is different from the support kit stats, everytime you get a kill that kill goes into your support kit stats whether you shot him with your primary weapon or the weapons on your vehicle but you DO NOT get a kill counted to your light machine gun stats so all those kills under light machine gun are while I was on foot.

And I have more losses than wins because I cannot stand playing on a team that is winning. I always try to join the team that's losing and I alone am not enough to turn the tide of the battle. Sometimes I'll just leave a server if I can't get onto the team that's losing because I hate being on a stacked team.

my bad habo3 i read the stats wrong i thought you had like huge transport kills i opologize

while im very impressed with the k/d ratio it shows my point that it doesn;t always help a team win to be a lone wolf killer

        Re: pkm

its not about the destructive power of a weapon with K:d ratio's 1 vs 1 i win 90% of the time. heck 1 vs 2 i usually come out on top. its how you play where your k:d ratio come into play. i am a friggin kamikazee. front line player...lone wolf tracking down peoople trying to cap flags or capping my own flags and pwning the people trying to keep me from doin it. yoo often i do take on too many people and get my arse woooped easily and then i will go back again cause i am dumb. so don't compare K:d ratio's with the power of a weapon. i could sit in karkand at the entrance to the fenced area and kill people left and right as they walk in. or i could play like i do and run across and charge up the freakin hill takin people out or gettin my arse whooped. it could go either way. bit for the team it opens up more opportuinites for everyone else to run up that hill or get owned even worse cause everyone followed me into 30 people. style not power of weapon.

Well, I didn't find the thread. So I'll just reply here.

It really depends on how you ask your question and then at the end of the day, personal preference. I fly choppers a lot myself, and I'll tell you right now I'm more afraid of the AT than a guy with a light machine gun.

But on the ground, I play a lot of base defense, especially during strategic moments when holding a base could win the game for you due to spawns at that location. And I've learned, through a lot of deaths mind you, that in most cases, I'd rather be support than AT. Ok, so yeah, this is a personal preference. But I'd be curious to find out if others have come to the same conclusion. I guess the deciding factor for me is greater survivability. I'm able to light up an incoming chopper from a greater distance. And typically, if I'm smart about it, it takes the pilot a good long while to figure out where the ground fire is coming from. By then, he's smoking. But they always see the AT missile coming at them unless you are right under them.

So hey, it's a personal choice. Use whatever you are most effective with.

            Link to thread:
            http://www.totalbf2.com/forums/poll.php?do=showresults&pollid=660

            Summary:
44 people regarded the SRAW/Eryx as more dangerous to helictopers, while 13 people thought that the infantry-carried LMGs were more effective.

Figure [+/-] 3 votes to account for:
            - A few people voting for the LMGs thinking that I meant the .50 cal guns mounted on the jeeps
            - One guy posting a response saying that the AT rockets were better, but then voting for the LMGs
            - Anyone else who was confused about the choices

Right, so pilots fear the big damage of the AT more than the light damage of the machine gun, as expected. But let's get your vote on something |ass|. On the ground, defending a flag with an inbound chopper, what kit would you prefer? Again, assume for the sake of discussion that it's a blackhawk full of Joes and no ground vehicles.

              My choice: Support.

My choice is actually Spec Ops for defense. C4 on the flagpole, and surrounding high points, trumps all. The carbine is great for stragglers, and I even have grenades if I need them.

But between AT and Support, I'd take AT. At the very least, the SRAW/Eryx allows me to shoot and move instead of having to stay prone in order to hit anything - and stationary enemies are pretty well food for the chopper's guns.

Eventually I'll have to close on the flag area in order to clean up enemy infantry, and I much prefer the mobility and CQC accuracy of the DAO-12.

                  Re: pkm

Yeah, I'd take the Spec Ops route over AT too. The problem with AT is:

1.) You end up wasting a lot of rounds on the choppers, then moments later, you wish you had them for the tank for APC that just pulled in.

2.) You have to guide it into the target. This makes you an easy kill for anyone nearby.

Back when they allowed full choppers to cap at the same rate as if all the guys were on the ground, I always chose AT because you could just wait for the Heli to hover and he had to stay still if he wanted to take the flag. Now, pilots are smarter and they drop off their guys then take a firing position and let the gunner provide covering fire for the guys on the ground.

When you are in this situation, there really is no good kit. But I'll take Support because, like you said, the grenades are effective against the guys on the ground. Plus, you can take a lot of them with the PKM before they get you.

I agree with everyone on the Poll about the mounted machine guns. If there is a jeep nearby, I'll grab it. That's the best option. But sometimes the respect they have for this approach can be used to your favor with the smaller PKM.

Again, it's personal preference. And my track record with discouraging flag caps by choppers with the PKM outshines my efforts with the AT. Could be I just suck with the AT. :)

                    Re: pkm

for the at to be ffective it needs to used in groups 2 or 3 people
with the long reload time u are usally spotted if trying to take down a chopper and then chewed up by the miniguns

ill take the support as it can take out the passengers more effectively too and since they have to get out to help cap you can take em down as they enter the cp area

I like the support and medic classes because they represent a new way of being a teamplayer.
Resupplying/healing/reviving teammates always makes me feel good and the PKM, for lack of a better weapon, is an excellent weapon for the support class, in comparison to the other support weapons.
Its hefty, does alot of damage and its fairly accurate when fired prone. The trick is to aim low.
