Only the default (TGN Light) theme for now. Dark them is also coming back soon. Then CSN. Then Wrestlin' Nation. A lot of WIP stuff right now. There are a couple of things still not working either. Sorry.
So after buying BF2 the first day it came out, and after reading thread after thread of people's issues with the game, months of single player gaming and 3 patches later I finally get Broadband tomorrow....
...So what helpful advice can you BF veterans give to a novice like myself? (BF2 related only please)
Fight hard and stick with your squad, 'n you'll be fine.
You'll die a lot, but you'll be fine anyway :p
Agreed, find a squad and stay with them, but chose what kit the squad needs don't be medic if it's got 3 medics, then not only will you help the squad you'll get a few points from it.
read almost every thread here and you'll know everything you need to know about playing bf2.
Exacterly what he said there are some real diamonds of knowledge on this forum. Proberly every trick and every tactic that youll ever see in game has been covered on this forum loads of times wheater its a rant or actually a thread to help people.
Heres some basic tips for you incase you havnt got a week to read everything on here :-
1) Try to get in a squad but be carefull some squad leaders are completely stupid if you get in a squad and your squad leader wants to take on 3 tanks a couple of apc's and 20 troop's all at once ignore him join a different squad. Basicaly only try to fight the battles that you stand a chance of winning no point in spawning at the same flag to die instantly.
2) Learn how to use the weapons, all the weapons have strenghts and weakness none of them are crap you just got to change the way you play with each weapon & class.
3) Constantly keep an eye out for C4 and land mines the enemy is very sneaky about traping certain areas of the map including flags. So if you see that a flag has C4 around dont capit unless you see a space thats isnt C4 and you think you can get away with it.
4) As your first unlock i'd recommend either the G36C (speacial forces), L85A1 (medics), DA0 12 (Anti tank). The G36C is just a realy good weapon you dont need to learn it you just pick it up and use it Its just good. The L85A1 Proberly one of the best long range guns in game and you can self heal BUT it takes alot to get used to it in CQB once you master that though youll be unstopable. The DAO 12 this shot gun should beat nearly everything in CQB anything at a distance try useing the pistol or your AT missles ( lol you can out snipe a sniper with them and one shot deffinatly kills )
5) Learn the weak spots on armour theres loads of threads on here about 1 shot killing a tank . There dam near impossible to do in real batle so shotem in the tracks but the information could help you alot.
6) Get a head set youll be able to hear sounds that you wouldnt normaly be able to this can help alot. Also get into the habbit of changing view while in vehicals youll be able catch enemy trying to sneak up on you and take the apporpiate action.
These are just a thew tips there are players wiser than me that have made threads with even better info like r0uJe said so read through the forums and use the search function youll be surprised what you find .
If you plan on flying. Dont just fly right when someones on your tail. Its **** easy to track someone when they just fly in one direction, left or right, try and vary your moves.
Fly right, afterburners on, and immediatly switch left. things like this usually work and you can go outside of their vision and your immediate left turn will through them off.
If someones tailing you and has a lock, dont fly in a straight line. your asking to get shot down that way.
Be wairy of planes. If someone else is waiting for it watch them carefully. Some people dont care about the -4 for getting into the thing first.
If your special Forces and you know that one flag generally will be a tug of war match, leave some C4 around it. Once the enemy neutralises it blow it and your sure to bag some kills.

Although if they're all Snipers and SpecOps then they're probably up to some sneakyness, so don't spawn on them as a clumsy AT and give away their location to the enemy commander, like I do.
But playing in a squad would probably be a good start. If your Squad Leader isn't giving you commands or responding to your requests...SWITCH to another squad until you find a good Squad Leader.
#1 - Get a mic
#2 - Join a squad
#3 - Use your mic - talk to your squad leader
Once you feel pretty good about your game online - jump in as a squad leader, or even commander. Online play is a whole different animal from single player.
DO NOT GET DISCOURAGED!! People have been playing this game for sick amounts of time online and are very good. You will get there as well - just keep learning - and please for everyone's sake, PLEASE do not accuse everyone that kills you of cheating. Some people out there really are just that good that it looks like they cheat.
Don't be afraid to ask for help - once again - voice is your friend - use it.
