Patch 1.03 crashes BF2

I downloaded the patch from the EA website.
now, when I go to Multiplayer and try and join a server, BF2 closes...

does anyone know why this might be?

System specs?

I know that my game just randomly closes too. I'll be playing one minute, at my desktop the next, with no explanation of what the error was (if there even was one).

We have to face the fact that BF2 is sort of a piece 'o junk program. Fun, but junky.

Try reading the posts in the client section to help you as loads of others have had the same problem.

my prob isnt the multi crashing its the single players and create local that crashes
