auto kicks enabled...but not by the admins

How is it that all of the sudden our server is now kicking for being idle, pings, etc - when none of the admins have implemented it?

Also, we are unable how to figure out how to get rid of it. It all started sometime on Saturday from what we can gather.

Bf2cc also - just started showing what vehicles people are in - which it did not before. Some update happen?

If you have autoupdate enabled it may have upgraded to a new version without you knowing about it. Check their main page (dont know it) and see if they posted a new version. There should be a change log somewhere on the site or on the server that says what has been changed in the last versions. Sorry I cant be more help, but I dont run bf2cc on my server.

That sounds like ModManager modules doing the kicking. Check out mods/bf2/settings/modmanager.con on the server to change the settings (manual is here: http://bf2.fun-o-matic.org/index.php/ModManager ). BF2CC uses ModManager to operate.

The old version of BFCC did not track idle players properly so the kick for idle feature wasn't working. Version 2110 now tracks idle time.

You need to go to your auto admin tab and eiher change the auto kick on idle time to longer than 5 minutes, or turn off the feature by clicking the radio button.

The autoadmin button is gray - cannot select. I am guessing the server that is hosting has changed that. Guess we need to get to the source - figured it was something like that.

If I'm not mistaken, the Daemon allows you to modify the AutoAdmin stuff, but if you connect with r-con only using BF2CC the Admin and AutoAdmin buttons are unavailable. I use the Remoteconsole.exe in the BF2 folder for my auto admin stuff now. Took some getting used to as I didn't know the commands, my first attempt at running a server 100% newb, but now I can modify all the Auto kick/ban and messages and such with Rcon.exe and use BF2CC for the manual kick/ban, warnings and such. Just type ? at the rcon> prompt and you'll get a list of available commands.

Is there a different port to use the Daemon? I am only able to connect by RCON. I know servers can set different ports - but by default I am wondering if they are different.

i think the idel time shouldnt be no lower than 10mins cause ive seen servers that the idle time was 1-2mins thats dumb

Yeah, mine was 5 minutes but that still wasn't working. The counters where screwy and it would kick even if you weren't "idle". I just check the player list and if somebody hasn't spawned for a while I'll kick them, or if they have no score.
BeerStein, I was wondering the same thing. I use Seemeplayme servers and I love them, but I can't use Daemon on them. It's no longer an issue with Rcon.exe.

I believe ours is a seemeplayme as well. I will check out the rcon.exe this evening.

Do you know if that rcon.exe is stand alone? Or does it depend on all the other stuff to be installed. Right now my admin software runs on a different machine, different monitor so that I do not have to alt-tab out of the game to give people warnings, monitor, etc.

Re: auto kicks enabled...but not by the admins

                      You'll finde it in the BF2 folder here: C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\AdminTools\rcon\RemoteConsole.exe

Creat a short cut on the desktop for it and change the target to this:
                      C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\AdminTools\rcon\RemoteConsole.exe" -h 69.93.220.20 -p 4711
Where -h xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx is your server IP and -p xxxx is your admin port.
It's a standalone and you'll be prompted for the password you set when you started the server in the SeemePlayme chat room. Feel free to PM me about anything and you can email me too. My server is on 66.148.68.18:10540 if you want to play or ask me a question. It's only 3 days old so I'm still having trouble filling it every night.
I'm not sure if you can run it from another rig. You probably have to copy the files from the rcon folder to the admin righ. I run remoteconsole after starting the server and set my auto admin stuff such as Idle times, Auto kick for ping and language, and any auto messages I want etc. etc. Then I run BF2CC on another machine to do the manual kicking and banning as it's simpler with BF2CC. I'm going to try and copy the rcon folder to my admin rig tonight though.

lcplsickoll you have been very helpful. I will try this once I get home. I have a feeling it can be run stand alone as long as you copy that folder over. If not I can just run it on the gaming machine. Once those properties are set I should not have to use the console after that, as the typical admin duties can be handled through bf2cc. I have been using bf2ra for the server messages and other server settings as well. Seems to be pretty decent.

It is a shame that I am now going to be using 3 different admin type utilities just to admin the server. It does not seem like that hard of a concept to have it all wrapped into one.

It isn't and typically BF2CC will handle all, but for some reason we can't use Daemon on the Seemeplayme server. I saw BF2ra but wasn't impressed, although it would be easy to put the messages in. Once you use Remoteconsole you'll see it's very easy to put the message in there too. It's only 2 commands and the message then the times in seconds. I think it's pretty slick. Well I'm always on and I'm in the chat too. I use the BF2 Ranked Gamer room and the room name is Jay or Jays and the pwd is 12346. Also my Seemeplayme id is: ieatdrt. You can page me if you have questions.

I just did it myself, Yes you can just copy the files over to your admin machine and run it from there. I do the same thing you do. I have my gaming rig on the digital in on the LCD and the admin rig on the Analog input. Press a button to toggle back and forth. Hell of alot better than Alt+Esc.

                              FYI -

Working like a champ now. Used:

rcon mm setParam mm_kicker idleLimit 0
rcon mm setParam mm_kicker maxPing 0

Everything set now - thanks for the help.
