why cant i get 1st sgt?

i gots a problem.

i just got msgt about 2 days ago. after about an hour i realised i never got first sgt.

so i waiting for my bfhq to update to msgt and then i also saw i was missing basic knife.

soon as i saw msgt rank in bfhq i went and got basic knife then veteren knife. i let that update in bfhq.

i now have all basic, most are veteren badges, and 20k points, and the rank msgt.....


why am i not a first sgt.i played for about 4 hours with all the req and not once didi get frst sgt.

I think you can only get one or the other depending on the badges you have.

you can only get it if you have the basic badges BEFORE you get the rank

I think someone else had stated they lost enough points to be demoted.
So I would guess it is possible.

why does every one want to be first sgt. just play until u get the next rank which is mst gunnery sgt.

Yeah they need to fix that i mean if you get all the badges while your master sergeant you should get promoted

Allright, even if you have all the badges dont hold your breath. I just got done playing a few games. I break the 20000 mark, I already have all required basic badges, and I get promoted to 1st Sgt. as I would expect. Then game 2, I get promoted to 1st Sgt again, game 3 ditto and now for the fun part, game 4 I am promoted to Master Sgt and recieve the basic medic combat badge I got that badge ages ago. wtf is up with that. So it remains to be seen what BFHQ will show once the whole thing gets updated. The badge detection and promotion system is just f*cked. Ah well.

I am 25 points away from 20,000 points but cant get my basic knife badge (been trying for last month) . got all the others though

Yeah they need to fix that i mean if you get all the badges while your master sergeant you should get promoted

1st Sgt isn't a higher rank than Master Sgt.. Also if you attain all your basic badges after you are promoted to Master Sgt, then you're promoted to Sgt Major when you make 50k points. (not Master Gunnery Sgt as BFHQ states)

Its so stupid. I went straight to Master Sgt. after patch...so there's no way to get 1st Sgt. What kind of reasoning is that? So now I have to wait another 5 months to get to 50k points...which I'll just prob stop playing the game eventually. I mean, duh.
