Definitely Desert Conflict, as they're basing their mod on the successful concept that is Desert Combat!

I don't know where you've been looking, but they're updating their homepage more or less daily, check out the new section "Daily Update" where they put some new renders almost every day :)

Lets face it POE and DESERT COMBAT were the best mods in the past i think.so POE but if DESERT COMBAT come back that will kill em all as BF1942 DESERT is still sweet ,i think being able to go into many buildings have battleships subs bombers is what BF2 SHOULD ov had standard ,seems we traded graphics for gameplay and features:cry: when i think bout it

Sorry guys, have never played a mod, how do you get them to work, just download and install?

How do you play them? I'm guessing unranked servers, but does it work the same, if they display a mod that you have, then you log in to that server and it works?

Hey bud, glad to help you,

Mods basically change the game in a very big way. Of course, I am talking about the big mods that are in the works. For example, some mods for BF2 will place you in a Vietnam War scenario with only Vietnam-era weapons. Some mods are focused on WWII combat. Some are focused on modern combat, with different weapons, maps, and scenarios. A good mod will completely change the game, and most of the time it will be better than normal BF2. When you get bored of basic BF2, just try a mod. :)

To play a mod, you can make a custom shortcut on your desktop, or you can load it through the BF2 interface. When you install the mod, it basically creates a directory in a pre-made mod directory.

I'm guessing that the mods won't contribute to the ranking system, but, trust me, you won't mind it after getting hooked on the top-notch quality mods that will be released. These mods will improve gameplay 10-fold.

Right now, only a few "mini-mods" have been released. When the big boys start releasing, you will see MANY more topics about it :) I'm guessing that you will still have to log into EA's servers, but will not be ranked when playing these mods. Don't worry; you will be way too enthralled in the superior gameplay to care. :)

Check out http://www.pointofexistence.com at the very least... there are MANY other good mods in the works as well.

If you have any more questions, PM me, or just post in here. :)
