Reformatted - patch sequence?

I just reformatted, and have installed BF2 from my DVD.

Usually with Vid Games there are 2 ways of dealing with patches..

1. use the latest patch only.
2. patch in order, from oldest to newest.

Has anyone else had to do this, and if so, did you have to patch from the 1st patch and then work your way to 1.03, or will 1.03 work on its own ?

thanks man, that's the one I managed to save on another comp :) didnt wanna have to track down other patches...
