Annoying Error (Why oh why?!!!)

Hi dudes and dudettes,
I'm having a problem that disables me from entering multiplayer games.

I'm using the All Seeing Eye, and as I try to connect to a server (any server), I get this error (or som'n like so): "Connection failed. Check your network connections".
I have a wireless router and WinXP and I'm using BF2 V1.01. My XP firewall is disabled and I don't have any other software-firewall. I opened up the following ports (in my router) for ASE: 27243-27245 and the following for BF: 16567-16568. I have this error for WEEKS. Please, aid a soul in distress.:cry:

Patch the game to 1.03 then use the server list provided but only have a maximum of 6 filteres enabled.

So... you have never been able to connect to a server?

By the way, there are only 4 servers worldwide running the 1.01 server version. You won't be able to connect to the other 5000 servers until you patch.

When you do, you'll need to change the filters.txt file of ASE to make it work with BF2 so test the game from the internal browser and not ASE.

But I'm having another problem now. When I start BF, a message from EA pops-up and "The Everything Watching Retina " can't start the game!

Use X-Fire! Its way better than ASE.
Unless you paid for ASE...then use X-Fire anyways.

I tried using XFire but I have that same problem... Whenever I start BF2 with one of these server programs I get a "Message from EA" of some kind of advertisement and then the server doesn't come up.

Xfire fixed this problem about 3 weeks ago. Check the Xfire forums.
