Whats going on...

1). I just came back from a 32 play match in which I 'won'... or I think I did. At the end of the match I had the highest overall score, most kills, and most teamwork points. So after it said my team won and the score listings came up, I did not get the gold medal... as a matter of fact I did not get silver or even bronze. Then when I clicked on the high scores, my name did not show up for any of them, even though I know I had the most teamwork, combat, and revives/heals.

2). Ever since the error message with punkbuster, when ever I play on any server, 90% of the people on the scoreboard's ranks show up as Private.

3). For some reason I am still Priavate First Class, even though 2 days ago on bf2s.com it said I was at 100% progress towards getting promoted to Lance Corporal. (My global score is 632)

Is anyone else having the same or similar problems?

Yes, some time. My normal indication is, I don't get any of my unlocks. I have to log out, then back in to the server. Then I am getting the same basic badges I have gotten ages ago, and I have no rank.

One night a group of buddies and I were playing and I had the same thing happen, no unlocked weapons no rank. logged out and back in, then I had my unlocks but still no rank and I proceeded to get several of the same basic badges I had received before. Normally I can go to another server and all is well. But I didn't want to leave my group. So I thought, delete the cache file and start the game over and enter the same server. It fixed this problem. I had my rank again and all unlocks. I have not been able to duplicate this. I don't think it had anything to do with logging out and restarting the game and logging back in because I had done that 3 times already before deleting the cache file.

This is where the cache file is:

C:\Documents and Settings\YOUR SCREEN NAME\My Documents\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\cache


Just delete all files in this folder that say something like " {D7B71E3E-4305-11CF-CD7D-0A2000C2CB35}_2551_2 "

Delete all three folders or just the files inside one you posted the specific name of?

All files inside the cache folder. Unfortunately this is the only way to clean out the cache.

Actually, you should not take advice from someone you don't know telling you to delete files on your computer.

So I say move them (or copy then delete) to your desktop or somewhere else. That is what you should always do until you know that this action is not trashing your system. Unless it is a critical system file or registry (never tweak around in there unless you know what you are doing) you can always move the files back to the same place if there is a problem.

BTW if you have three folders in the cache folder that is because you have likely changed you BF2 video or quality settings at least 3 times.
