Yep, that's a bitch. People calling out armour/apcs on maps with bombers must know one is gonna come diving in within a few seconds and take out the vehicle... A good example happened to me this morning... The top left US beach base, a single USMC infantry calling out a single tank trying to cap the flag... I screamed in with my F35 and dropped my bombs just as the dude decided to run out of the building on a suicide mission...
As other people have mentioned, if you don't want to incur TKs and punishes (despite the fact you've probably saved theirs and their teammates arses several times already), don't bomb close to friendlies... Otherwise practice precision bombing and hope for the best...

When on the ground, I'm constantly checking the sky and rarely get bombed. Does anyone look up regularly or just pilots fighting on the ground?

I've never been blown out of the sky by a stray friendly missle without a warning, albiet possibly a short one, first.

I see both sides of the arguement with the plane TKs. As a pilot, I don't bomb indescriminately, but mistakes do happen. Checking the minimap before every drop is good practice but isn't always practical. Mistakes happen, just as you said you've mistakenly gone into arty strikes because you were too focused. Lighten up m8! It's bad for your health to hold a grudge you know! :) Now if a pilot is bombing everything that moves no matter the color of the "blip", then he deserves a kick in the pants!
I don't enjoy the skies, I prefer being "in the thick of things" on the ground, but try to practice once in a while, 'cause sometimes need air to get from point A to B, or if our team has no flyboys and the other has a JetFag (no, I don't like those air guys, but it's a part of the game and I accept it), sometimes necessary to go up and try to shoot him out of the skies, if one's team is neglecting to look after him.

I've been up there when there are only a few ppl on the map and we're just waiting for more ppl so game can start, and been playing sometimes where any target is fair game, even teammates... I've found that the missiles would not track one's own jets or helis, only enemy. Also the AA missiles would not seek friendly aircraft. Anyone notice the same?

Well, duh, sounds like you havent ever jumped into a stinger site either, i found that out in the demo, go figure. But dont worry, if you fire your missles while locked onto an enemy, they will go for the closest friendly regardless

hehe... Well duh!, excuuuuuse me! I forgot to mention the Stinger... yes, I had, forgot, and am not going to rack my brains over it now, but maybe I'm forgetting about some other piece of equipment. That has nothing to do with the essence of the question I asked... duh!

Its a bit delusional to think that call out for armour is purely to give the jet jockeys another target to bomb. If I call it out it is for the teams benefit not one lone pilot. There are plenty of other classes that can destroy armour a lot more precisely.

Constantly look up to the sky whilst on foot?? No, far more interested in what is going on the ground. If a bird is going to crap on you it happens so quickly it is only luck that will save you. They are the pilots bombs, they are his responsibility not the poor guys on the ground.

I can't think of a single occasion where I have been saved by a jet. The helicopter are a far more effective anti armour tool.

quadrouple the heatsignature of jets (or whatever the game use for tracking)...

that would give the the AA better chances of shooting the ****ers down (Hate pilot, not because of the pilot itself, but because its impossible to shoot them down with any AA) and do it with out completely destryoing the choppers chances

Not delusional, however common sense to remain in the cover of the building or take cover. On a relatively small map with jet aircraft, calling out armoured vehicles often results in an air strike. Aircraft are part of the game, get over it.

Just because I spot a piece of armor does not mean I want a bomber to roll up and blow everything for 1/4 mile around.

When I am in the chopper I look for those spots and get my gunner (or me as a gunner) a precise kill - not harming other armor around them, or at least be able to stop the attack or steer it away if I see a teammate running up with c4. I hardly ever get tk's when on tv. The only time that happens is when a tag comes up too late - which does happen.

Also, I spot armor so that any of the AT guys on foot that around can run over to get a shot. Lord knows they are around. FFS everytime I hop in a tank 30 of those bastages hop out of the bushes and tear me a new one.

Summary - just because I spot enemies does not mean I am calling for a bomb run.

There really should be an air support call - rather than just spotting only.

                            USE THE MAP PEOPLE!

That's what it's for...bind a key on your joystick to the map key or something it only takes a second to open it and see if the area is clear of friendlies.

I honestly don't see a problem with the minimap while flying, and that i pretty much all I do on any map with a jet. I rarely ever get tk's as a result of double checking before dropping bombs.

If a base has friendlies in it, I don't bomb it unless I am positive I can hit it without hitting my teammates, period. Even if you know where someone is in a base, you still stand a good chance of hitting them because the splash damage on the bombs is huge and your teammates don't know when you are dropping bombs, which means they mite decide to come running out into the area you are ready to nuke at the most inconvenient times.

Sorry Flares, IVFluids and others have it right... it's your responsibility to be in control of your ordnance... that's what YOU have to get over, and understand...

I'm not being sarcastic, unless you refuse to see the light and are going to maintain your position that all your teammates have to constantly be on the lookout to make certain you're not going to drop tons of bombs on their heads every time they spot enemy units. If you insist that everybody has to be constantly hiding from you, then I guess at that point I'd have to make my first paragraph one of sarcasm, but only if...
