    Screen screwed.. Why?

    Can anybody tell me why this is happening and how to prevent it please? It just randomly happens during the game and it's mostly when i'm flying a helicopter or plane. Once it's begun it keeps appearing when flying or walking in a certain direction and it won't go away.:cry:

    That looks exactly like what my screen is doing with my new Nvidia 6800 graphics card. I can usually play a round or two before it happens, but once it does, it only gets worse and I have to reboot. What are your system specs?

      Er.. P4 3.0GHz, 1GB DDR400 Ram, GF6600GT 256MB. I don't know what my motherboard is. It's a Dell PC.

        Interesting.... I just got a Dell with the 6800 card and it has the same problem as yours. I've tried a bunch of different drivers, but nothing seems to work. Have you been in contact with tech support? I talked to a guy who seems to be very interested in getting to the root of this problem, but if it can't be fixed I'm sending it back.

          I haven't tried tech support. The PC came with an ATI X300 which never had this problem. It's only developed since i bought the 6600GT.

              I'm pretty sure I have. The installation disc only has one set of drivers for the card on it. The game plays fine for a couple of hours usually before it'll start doing this.

                Seems like a problem for the 6-series.. Hmm, what could it be.

                  The Drivers on the disk are probably old, try new dirvers. www.nvidia.com

                    I updated to the latest 81.85 drivers a couple of days ago and it still happens. It happened with the drivers before this aswell. The only drivers I can't remember it happening with are the drivers the card came with but I only had them on for a day.

                      Same here. I tried every driver under the sun, including third party ones that are supposed to be tweaked for higher performance. I'm becoming convinced that it's a faulty video card. I'd say return it, that's what I'm going to do with mine.

                        sorry to hear that you are having problems. it could be because the 6800 card that you have is not standard, it's oem, it's a dell, and may not be fully compatible with regular 6800. i have the same problem with an ibm laptop my company gave me. it says it has an ati card, but for some reason the ati drivers do not work. it says that it comes with windows xp but the windows update fails for some entries that tell me i don't have windows xp. when I go to the ibm site their dated hardware and windows updates work just fine. it's just that they change the hardware and do not release a standard windows xp. that will teach people to buy from company's like this. you may need to you dell drivers and if that does not work you may want to return the card to them and buy a regular video card. i've also heard of problems with their sound cards not being the same as the sound blasters.

                          I doubt its your card, my brother has a 6600GT and he has the exact same problem, but only since the 1.03 patch was released. Im about to go spend the morning tryin to get his to crank up. I thought it was a heating issue so we amped up his cooling, but the problem still exists and the card barely hits 60c. I have a feeling it could be the 1.03 or a Driver issue. As recently he install the 81.84 WHQL driver from NVidia's beta lot. Will let you know how i progress.

                          Incondently, my gf has a Albatron 6600GT & i have a Gigabyte 6800GT, and have yet to have any problem with the graphics. Altho occasionally hers does sometimes show missing patches in the game which appear as a black triangle but only on long distance.

                            I get the same problem. It's only started since 1.03

                            I can be playing between 10 mins and an hour before it kicks in...once it does the game becomes unplayable (0.0000001 fps) so i have to quit.

                            I thought patches are meant to fix problems, not create them. Are EA totally useless?! I pay for a game and I can't even play it!

                              Well it hasn't happened for a couple of days but yesterday it decided instead that it would do things like this;

                              Also buildings and areas of the ground did this. It looks quite cool but it's annoying.
