i was wondering if one didnt want to modify the content in a certain zip file for skins is it possible to the the "_001" stuff like in 1942?

    ie.

    Adding on skins to "Objects_client"
mkae a separate file called "Objects_client_001" with the additional changes so as not to modify the whole darn thing

    Nope, unfortunately thats not possible.
You will have to make an own mod

Cant you just change the server/client archive file and mount another zip file with only the needed changes in. Im not sure which will be read first when the game runs but im sure at least one of them will be read.

it is possible, create a new zip name it whatever you want but make sure its the correct folder structure, then in the client and server con files, add a reffereance to your newly created zip file before the older client.zip is registered and will work fine

Thats true, BUT if you change the ~archives.con the game kicks you after verifying.
You can delete the lines you added but it still doesnt work.
So make sure that you make a backup copy

Even for your own mod? I suppose it might do it if there is a duplication in a particular object.

nope, as am guessing naz would use his own mod to test them it does not affect your bf2 at all, and if its for stock bf2, just make a "mod" but make nothing except skins in it
