if you have the support kit and someone out of ammo is close enough to you then you will see a bar on top of his head telling you he is "bingo on ammo". Is that what you want?

On the mini-map, (when you are support class) you will see orange or red circles around your teammates 'dots'. These are the people that need ammo.
True, but due to the bug where the orange/red circle doesn't go away for the support class makes it confusing. The red/orange often stays until after they've respawned!
A lot of the "circles" I try to re-supply have already gotten ammo.
This works for the medic (i.e. the circle goes away when you heal them), but not for support. Even after two patches they still haven't fixed it
It does work, it's just that most people are still firing even when resupplied, therefore they need ammo again immediately. However, until they reload they can't be replenished.

If that's the case, DICE should fix it so they wont "turn red" until at least 1 clip/grenade/whatnot has been used - so you wont have to waste your time tossing ammo bags at people to no avail.

This is correct, to be able to see this you need to have your 3D map enabled, the default key is the left "ALT" button. An ammo bag icon will appear over their head and also in the minimap.

Run up to people with dots and if you hear the noise throw em bag. The people that ask will have the ammo circle above them. Stick by the noobtubers, they're support's best friend.
