Vehicle mirages during game play

I have an Athlon 64 3500+ processor, 2GB of PC3500 ram, an Nvidia 6800 video card. It's not a weak system.

Now, what I have noticed a lot lately is that I see a lof of vehicle mirages during the game. I will see a vehicle on the horizon, then it disappears. Sometimes it's really funny because I will see a jeep, then all I see is the driver sitting in the jeep, not the actually jeep. Mostly, though, it's tanks and APCs they come and go like a mirage. I sucks because I have been killed by them because they can see me but I can't really see them.

Anyone else?

I have my screen resolution at 1280x960 and high graphics detail but no AA.

Make sure your drivers are current.

It has been reported before in another thread (Cant find it), but if I recall corectly it has to do with the draw distance... even at 100% it will glitch a bit. I also think someone mentioned this was more prevelant in 1.03 (But I dont recall for sure)

Drive update didn't work. I just installed Nvidia's latest drivers that came out today. A quick go on Dragon Valley revealed lots of miraging.

I tried to make screenshots by hitting the prntscn key but nothing was saved. Oh well.

I have a similar setup to yours, and I have had these problems...even with the latest driver. Usually a vehicle will disappear when looking at it through a scope of a tank, apc or AT weapon. Wave the targeting recticle off of the target, and the vehicle will reappear. Line the vehicle up on the crosshairs, and the vehicle disappears.

Luckily, this doesn't happen often enough for it to be a big problem. And the mirage vehicles are at a far enough distance that I'm usually not noticed.

It is an LOD bug in the engine itself, well documented.
