I got Quake 4, and played through it to the dropship so far, and I have to say that it is a really good game, no idea where IGN and especially PC GAMER pulled those ratings from but it's not what i would have rated quake 4 as.

Many people say ignorant remarks about Raven and ID, but really both of those companies have a made an impact on the FPS genre, with stunning lighting and visual effects.

They also made the classic games, Raven made the Soldier of fortune series which I own, good games. ID made the Doom series, Doom 1,2,final doom,3 and ROE have all been great games.

Just beat it, and holy crap the ending boss of quake 4 is hard.... well at least on the highest difficulty. He warps in some of the lesser enemies and has a **** load of aoe attacks as well as the fact you gotta kill him twice then kill something else which I dont want to spoil what it is. KICK ASS GAME.
