If I can remember correctly it was the FEAR multi player demo. I had everyting maxed, do you realy think I put everything on low? The game is rubbish I just don't like it show me some videos of the reloads. There is none, it lowers the gun below the screen and then comes back up. I'm just saying what I saw, BF2 and HL2 look way better than this game IMO. Oh and those bullet holes in the walls, please don't let it trick you into thinking theres actualy a hole there. Its a prite a 2d sprite witch is totaly lame. The only cool thing is the slow motion effects. I just realy don't like this game.

Try the singleplayer demo. Multiplyer SUCKED....seriously. They focused 99% of their time spent and skills used to make singleplayer. I played multiplayer once, I hated it. Gave it one more chance - deleted it.

About the putting everything on low.....well hell yeah....you were obviously exagerating if you say textures are low detail, the graphics were bad, etc when it is better than most games. HL2 most likely looks better, but BF2.....I dissagree. Well I have all my graphics maxed out on this though, but my video card and such can't handle BF2 at all at high.

However the effects in FEAR are alot better. How practically every single thing can be shot at and it will leave a dent, or shatter it, or move it, etc. When you shoot people blood comes out the back, they will move according to where you shoot them, etc. And the "holes"....well I know there not really holes. But they sure as hell look like it, and imho look damn good. I don't care whether they are real or not, they sure as hell looh like it.

In the MP demo you can't even see whats going on most of the time. I hated the MP demo..however I loved SP. Im buying the game alone for SP. Anyway, your post seemed to diss the game alone for the graphics, and they are obviously great. Just look at my screens in the last page.....don't tell me that dosn't look good. If you didn't like the multiplayer gameplay, thats different. Neither did I. I highly reccomend trying SP.

hey its your opinion and thats fine. some ppl like some games, others like others. anyways back on topic, a couple of pics from early in the game. (fear)

both are taken in slow-mo as its kinda hard for me to take pics in full speed while playing, the border around the screen only happens in slow-mo.

1200x900 everything bar FSAA on max.


in case ppl were actually worried about reloads.

I played singleplayer also, I don't like the game and I don't like the graphics. Theres nuthing wrong with me not liking them, I just dont like the engine they use and how the models look it's just ugly to me. I play BF2 on all high with 4xaa and 16xaf at 1280x960 and it looks way better than FEAR. IMO!! The best looking thing in FEAR is the water thats it.

For some reason F.E.A.R reminds me of DEUS X, not like the gameplay the models kind of.

I agree, I think it's the colours. Oh well me FEAR copy arrives tommorow and I already have Quake 4 so I'll post shots soon.

About Quake 4 though, this game just has awesome graphics and gameplay and it runs on my system flawlessly (where bf2 will not). I higly reccomend buying it for the SP alone.

Ok, I played the demo again SP and it was alright, I still dislike the reloads with a passion they are awful. But it's not to bad. I dont like it to much but I take back some of the stuff I said.

OK I played FEAR and seriously, my computer is not bad, most games it autodetects for high graphics, I mean it runs Quake 4 on Very High beautifully. But everything just looks bad for me. Plus I agree with the statement about the reloads... they are lame.

EDIT:

OK I looked at my settings and FEAR autodetected all of my settings to 'off' or 'minimum' -.-. Thats BS my computer can play HL2 and Quake 4 on very high settings. All I can think of is autodetect dosent work. Now I changed everything to medium everything looks much better. Reloads still suck.

Yeah I suppose iD really didn't handle that plot twist very well, it could have been a great turn for the players. I myself didn't know about it until I watched the 'Weapons' video on the bonus disk while it was installing, ruined the whole twist for me!
