    real weird problem.

OK so, I have this really weird problem with BF2:

I proceded to start the game like i have many times before, i go to join a game, but it crashes me to desk top, even after multiple retries and reboots.

ok so I take the CD out and stick it back in, it asks me to install the game??? what?? but i've already installed it...
right, so now the game doesnt even start. I go to uninstall it, but wait....now i cant even uninstall bf2?

So if i cant run BF2, cant install BF2, and cant uninstall BF2 what do i do?? reinstall windows?? i'd rather not..

Any advice would be usefull, hopefully someone will answer.

    Boy u r new to computers rn't u?
U've messed up ur BF installation....:p
first of, u should know that all CDdisks have a auto-start "thing (easy way to call it)" that will run every time u close ur CDdrive door...., in that case it was the game's installation prompt and probably u have done some "yeses" and started the installation and then:hmm: stoped it....
Now try to use ur PC's "Control Panel" - "Add Remove Programs" to uninstall the game.

    Good luck (ur gonna need).

well actually yes i know this, not trying to be rude, but obviously i've messed something up.

-I have installed the game already, and have been playing BF2 for atleast a month now.

-Its not because I aborted the installation but rather, the installation will not get past the "preparing install sheild wizard" phase. I dont even get to click any "yeses". Instalation and uninstallation is failing to initialize.

      -Same problem with uninstall.

-I've used Control panel to uninstall BF2 but it doesnt work. Dont ask me why, it just doesnt. (same problems as above)

Any way thanks for you advice. And i will need that luck, you can never have too much.

Oh yeah, what i ment by "it asks me to install the game" is that its doing it even though i already have it installed. I was just confused at why BF2 was asking me to install a game, it was asif it didnt recognize the previous installation.

No problem, glad to help :)

When searching for topics like this, do a search for uninstall or install but limit the search to topic titles, instead of entire posts, if it yields no results then try entire posts..

There's also a link to similar post in one of the stickies at top of forum.
