    Losing Connection to servers

Log in. Connect to a game server. After a few seconds I lose connection.

This just started happening the other night. The only thing I've done to my computer in the last 2 days is run Ad Aware.

    Tried reinstalling, no dice.

    :-(

    Thanks for help, in advance.

Have you tried updating PunkBuster client??

    Download:

Run the file, Add a Game, choose Battlefield 2, Check For Updates and try playing again.

I had that same problem once I installed the new patch. I couldn't figure out what the problem was so I updated my punkbuster manually and then downloaded the patch from EA site which I patched it again over the same patch.

That still didn't help so I had my xfire turned off while playing BF2 and that did the trick so if you have Xfire running just turn it off and see how it works.

      Good Luck :)

Those are just temporary files, if you don't want it to clutter the desktop make a folder for it and run it from there.

The program will tell you if there are any updated to the PB client for the games you specify.

The app. might try to update itself, before updating the game so make sure that is has updated the game, by running the update option again.

Did it find any updated for BF2??

Have you tried running the game after updating??

Still no dice. Disconnecting after a few seconds.

            Hmm.

How are you connected to the Internet?

              Via a router or directly?

Do you use a software firewall and if yes which one and is it configured??

If you have 3rd party firewall, have you disabled the XP built-in firewall?? Right-click on LAN connection that connects you to Internet and select Advanced tab and check.

I'm connected with Cable. Using ZoneAlarm (bf2 filters through). XP Firewall disabled.

Damn man. This has been working fine up until I cleaned my system with AdAware.

Thanks for the help Gunny, I really appreciate. Hoping I can bite this bug in the ass so I can get back in game.
